Weekly Help Desk Updates - December 7th, 2007
Introduction
Welcome to the weekly Help Desk news. In these weekly updates we will attempt to bring you the most up to date information, as well as provide some helpful hints for super duper deviantART fun.
Hexe's Corner
Last week you requested them and this week they're here! The new Gallery v2 faqs are up and running and you can check them out below in the 'Recently Revised or New' section. If you can think of any other new v2 faqs that should be added in addition, please leave your suggestions below in the comments area.
The first edition to the Policy Inquiry guides have been launched, if you have not already checked it out you can so by clicking
here. The new 'Hey Hexe' shall follow shortly.
Ewm's Corner
This week I would like to discuss the importance of checking the
Status Forum. What all can you find in the Status Forum? Currently the status of major bugs, the weekly Bug Juice Articles, and links to the Weekly Help Desk Updates can all be found in the Status Forum.
If you are experiencing an issue that seems to be bug related the best thing to do is check through the recent posts to see if there is a posting on the issue in question you are experiencing. The most recent posts will be stickied meaning that they will have a yellow circle with an exclamation(!) point next to them. Any recently solved issues will be unstickied and will appear at the top below the stickied threads.
In addition to these individualized posts $
hexentanz has created a whole thread dedicated for all current bugs called "
Bug Juice". This thread is resubmitted every week and contains a full list of all current and recently resolved bugs. We recommend that you check the Status Forum often to keep up to date on the status of these issues. $
hexentanz also includes threads that link to the "Weekly Help Desk Updates" News Article.
It is extremely important that you check the status forum often to keep up to date on the situation with current bugs. Not only will you be able to know what is going on, but it will help keep the
Help Desk from getting overloaded with repeat bug reports so all other tickets can be responded to in a timely fashion.

Ever wonder how you can keep up with the official happenings around deviantART? From our brilliantly written Weekly Helpdesk Updates to sponsored contests, important site news will pop up in your message center as "Hot Topics".
The Hot Topic alerts will always be at the very top of your message center, above all other messages. These alerts are the staff's way of ensuring critical news and important updates make it to every single deviant in the community. That way you're not left scratching your head and, for example, wondering why you didn't know about gallery folders sooner. The Hot Topics also give you the opportunity to step out and make connections with deviants you may have never crossed paths with otherwise.
While you can't turn off these alerts, it only takes a quick click of your mouse to delete the message if you're not interested.
Weekly Tip
Did you ever wonder how much it will cost to to ship that special deviantWEAR item you've got your eye on? If so, click
here for details on how to find out this information and wonder no more!

Always the summers are slipping away.
And a small type, 'While you can't turn these alerts, it only...' looks like it should read 'While you can't turn these alerts off, it only...'
