Firstly, I would like to announce an end of the year Fractal Contest!
Ive been ruminating over what I thought would be an interesting idea
and have decided that it would be cool to see peoples art in collections!
So, beginning tomorrow Dec 8th, you may begin to submit your entries.
The thing is, you must NOT create new pieces for this contest.
This contest is about what youve created throughout 2007!
Its about taking stock of what youve accomplished and learned this year.
The reason I decided this, is because of a discussion that I had with my
Mother over the Thanksgiving Holiday. She expressed to me that she truly
enjoyed the work of a fractalist when she could recognize their pieces as
part of a cohesive collection ..something I will also focus on for 2008!
Name of the contest: THE COHESIVE COLLECTION CONTEST
Rules: Create a cohesive collection of pieces that you made
this year in 2007, then combine them artistically in a polyptych.
(A work of art composed of several different panels)
You can choose up to 20 artworks that you would like to group together,
but you must have at least 6 pieces to qualify as a collection.
Prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners will have their collections
in this article each week for the month of January. And I will purchase
a six, three and one month subscription respectively, for the winners.
( Other Prize Donations will be greatly appreciated! )
Judges: I will be asking a number of Artists to act as judges.
But, if youre interested please let me know. (But, judges will NOT be able to enter.)
My idea for this is to show the entire DA Community that all fractals
do not look alike! ~ Moreover, many fractalists have a signature style.
One that is easily recognizable as their work.
Are you a spiral junkie? Do you excel at making Julians? Psychedelica? Alien art?
Flower power? Metallics? 3-D? Geometrical? Minimalism?
Get the picture? ~ Show this entire community who YOU are as a fractalist!
Please combine your pieces into one artwork and frame it in either black
or white, then sign your name on the bottom and send me the link by note. Please make it large enough to see each piece in the collection clearly!
REMEMBER: This contest is about cohesiveness .so choose very carefully!
Have fun! ~ With love and respect for all artists, Sophquest
Now without further ado .Here is your Fractal Friday Wall for the week!
'Fractal Friday's Wall of Wows'! ~ 12/07/07

I figured since you had just posted it you'd still be online and able to post it somewhere before getting inundated with notes asking the same question. So no need to be sorry!
