There have been recent changes with allowed and disallowed file types within the galleries, as some of you might have noticed. The reason for this is to help cut down on the amount of images that are not categorized properly. Each Gallery Director has reviewed their list of accepted file types and each category will now be able to recognize whether or not a file type is appropriate for that category/gallery.
To put this very simply, if you have a .gif image and you are trying to submit it to the 3D gallery, it will no longer allow you to do so. Why? because there is a gallery for animated (.gif) work that can be found in the category menu by selecting
Digital art > Miscellaneous > Animation. There were MANY flash gallery pieces that do not belong in flash. Animated .gifs are not flash works.
If you are trying to submit something and the file type is not accepted and you don't know where to put your work, please refer to the list of Gallery Directors found here
