This is especially useful for portraits, conveying a dreamy, melancholic atmosphere and as an artistic expression. The easiest way to achieve small DOF is to take the picture from a small distance and with a greater aperture. dA is abundant with beautiful examples with this effect.

Ode to Water, a never ending source of inspiration

reports, December 17, 2007They are never the same because the subject changes constantly. Water is a never ending source of inspiration that never stops grabbing my attention.
I love the way it always changes... It keeps flowing around the earth in a never ending circle of life. A source of life for al that lives.
I must have seen hundreds of sunsets above the seas, lakes and rivers but I stil gaze at evry new one that I see.
The water with it's soft and velvet side, but also with it's harsh and cruel side. Water brings life but it also takes life.
To me, nothing else in nature is so enchanting as water.
That is why I decided to bring you an ode to water here on DA.
I hope you'll enjoy
And a few Black & White for desert
