Have you ever thought that you had different views on things than the rest of your family? Many people do, things like:
-abortion
-abuse
-religion
-schools and colleges
-civil rights
and ect. One thing to do is not be afraid to come out of the closet about your views! For example, I found out that I am an athiest in a Methodist family. My mother, brother, sister, and my father are all very religious people, and I do not find the whole God and Satan thing appealing at all. But because I would be disowned by my family, I did not come out of the closet in front of them. I have to go to my firends that are trustworthy to tell them how I feel.

When you feel ready to come out of the closet about something, whether you are not agreeing about religion, or you just came up pregnant, please TELL SOMEONE! I almost lost someone dear to me because they thought that not telling anyone that she had a problem, which will remain anonymous, she almost committed suicide. Some pepople may wonder why I am writing this article. Well, I'm going to tell you why! People think that it is better for things to be left unsaid, and that is NOT the answer! I am urging all people, not just those on deviantART, but people everywhere to take time and talk to someone, even if it is the family pet! There's nothing remotely wrong about talking to the cat or the dog, or maybe even your fish! Hell, I talk to my beta fish every time I need to get something off my chest!

Remember, it's not smart to beat around the bush with serious matters, it will only lead to your destruction in the long run. Maybe not at first, but it'll catch up to you, even if it has to take years. That is not a word that is a lie, believe me!
