I consider it food for thought and reflection about photojournalism and ethics and thus would like to share it with you.
Now follows an excerpt to lure you into reading the full version:
A photojournalist is a mixture of a cool, detached professional and a sensitive, involved citizen. The taking of pictures is much more than F-stops and shutter speeds. The printing of pictures is much more than chemical temperatures and contrast grades. The publishing of pictures is much more than cropping and size decisions. A photojournalist must always be aware that the technical aspects of the photographic process are not the primary concerns.
A mother crying over the death of her daughter is not simply an image to be focused, a print to be made, and a picture to be published. The mother's grief is a lesson in humanity.
If the photojournalist produces a picture without a thought for her tragedy, the lesson is lost. But if the photographer cares for her loss, is made more humane, and causes the readers to share in her grief, photojournalism has reached its highest potential.
Despite its frustrations and low moments, the lesson of humanity is why photojournalism is an extremely rewarding profession. For that reason, photojournalism is worthy of the best thought and actions possible by its participants.

The Jam was launched last December 11, 2007
and quite got a remarkable responses from the
Deviant Art community members.It ended yesterday,
Decemebr 27, 2007.This was conceptualized
and inspired from the deviation of
.
Consisting of more than 20 DA participants,
the JAM has reach its main purposes-- To
Bring FUN, Excitement, Inspiration and
Learning.Here is the link of the guidelines

Here are they now and the thumbs of their works!
1.
COLUSSUS Becoming a CARNAGE!
Leuname-X31 was the first to submit the complete piece of
"The WHAT IF? Comics Art Jam" far way advanced to the
December27 deadline!
Colussus becoming a Carnage is a mind blowing character merging!
Can anyone tell me how large will be the damage once
Rasputin is in Carnage form? Hah! Even Venow can hardly
stop him and would be able to pulverize him by mere strenght!
2.
Galactus vs Unicron
Galactus battles Unicron is such a devastating idea.
Both characters are planet- eaters. If one of them dies
in the mid of the battle, the sure winner is us!
How I wish they both get killed each other.lols.
3.
WHAT IF... joker was twoface ?
His very first attempt to do a comics style. But
Hey, the idea of Joker as Two Face will just make it more
crazier for Batman to deal with this villain.
4.
Wolverine/Daredevil
Wolverine getting the attributes and costume of the Daredevil?
Wolvy got to become an attorney too...hehehe.. I imagine him
on the court saying to the judge, "Hey 'bub I object!"
and then slash the table...hehehe..And hmmmm...what a stealth guy
would this become.

Weapon X-Men
Xmen being founded by the Weapon X program! A BIG trouble and headache for
Weapon X Program. Im sure for that.

Demona from Gargoyles (Marvel/Disney) with Emma Frost's (Marvel) powers!
When Demona got Emma Frosts's powers it become a more sexier and
hotter character. Yeah. I know Emma's fans would agree on me.
7.
White Baroness
Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare for the Ultimate HAWTNESS!lol
Baroness having White Queen's powers would make the G.I Joe's
uhhhhmmm..drool..Nah! Who needs Cobra Commander Anyway?
8.
Starfire/Wonderwoman
Wonderwoman having Starfire's Firepower makes her more
a fromidable Leaguer.Calling the attention of Jean Grey
of the X- Men..who wants to bet?
9.
Hellverine
Hellboy as Wolvy makes this Guy a more fierceful character.
And Heck, those underworld creatures will be out of luck
already!
10.
Ultimate X-MAN
The Impenetrable defense of the Collusus, The Flight
of the Archangel, optic blash of the Cyclops and both
offensive weapons from wolvy and psyloce. A one-man army
for the X-Men unleashed on this artwork.
11.
HULKERMAN!
What If SuperMan was hit by gamma rays? RUNNNNNN!
Its gotta be unstopable. The combined strenght of a
Kryptonian and the Hulk could destroy a planet in one
Big Blow.Flying Smash Here, Smash there!

Silver Racer
The merging of Silver Surfer and Black racer can be
considered to be a powerful cosmic entity. This Guiy could
diffinitely kick the ass of Galactus.

Winged Crawler
Nightwing having the power and costume of
Night Crawler is a brilliant idea. Now, Nightwing
could easily lurk the streets by using Nightcrawler's
teleportaion, No more acrobatic swinging on the
laundries.
14.
Steve Valentine
Captain America and Vincent Valentine is also
a unique character combination. Valentine is
from Final Fantasy and Steve is from Avengers.
I wonder how vincent would fight using only
Cap's Shield?
15.
Flash/ Iron Fist
What if Flash had the martial arts skills of Iron Fist?
Probably Flash wold be a great menace to all villains
outhere.Flash could kick your butt in a second.
16.
What If Joker ...?
What if Joker, Two-Face, The Riddler and Scarecrow
were the same person? Oh gawsh....THAT'S PURE NUISANCE
for Batman and Gotham City.Batman will be having BIG
HEADACHE too.
17.
WHAT IF JOKER IS THE GOOD GUY
This is a cool idea.That would take us a lot
of work to convince us. But hey, this happened to
Superman when Luthor became a President. But uhm,
that's not realy is. WHAT IF really, Joker is the Hero?
Probably Batman could be his greatest DARK Villain.
I can imagine how would batman become a criminal.
18.
Batman_Venom
Batman being the Venom is a scary thought. Imagine
him lurking the heroes behind. Even Spidey could
easily caught trap when this guy uses his Batman
skills, and then eat the spiderman alive.whoah.
19.
What if Iron man is a.....
What if Ironman is one of the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse...
Well, I guess its time for the X-MEN to go back to
their mothers.lol. The idea could get Professor X
in as BIG Concern. Well, Ironman prove this during
the Civil War.
20.
Green Spiderman
Spiderman wearing Green Lantern's ring could
possibly enhance more on spidey's webbing. BUT
hey who needs web when he can fly already?hehehe
Oh well, Old Habits Die Hard.And hey, he can be
green minded too?lols.
21.
Punisher Psylocke
I can't imagine how sexy would be the Punisher
if she is Psylocke.This is HAWTNESS again in the
making. Yeah. Looks can kill.
22.
Ultimate Batman Nemesis
The Dark Knight's Ultimate Nemesis is the combination
of The Joker, Two Face, Hush and The Riddler all in one body....
Well, Do you think Batman coul survive this abomination?
23.
Angel Psylocke
The Ultimate Playboy X-man and Psylocke was actually
lovers. See, how they look when combined. Well,
I guess this image can be project when they merge
their consciousness.
24.
Logan Snake
Logan when merge to Snake would make him
a powerful one man army of the FOXHOUND. Yeah. I can
imagine again how Logan could pulburize the
tanks by bare claw when he is out of bullets.
25.
SUPER THOR
Imagine Thor Wearing Superman's underwear and
bangs? Thor uses this now to distract lady villains.
And h, you can also dtermine if a male villain
is a Gay when they see Thor this time. lols.

IRON AMERICA
"what if Captain America got envy with Tony
stark's costume and requested him to give him one"
Imagine this happened before the Civil War.
Steve just forgot this costume somewhere else I guess
that's why he did not use this during his trial
where he was shot dead.

Scarlet Storm
Well, check out how Storm got the dress of
Scarlet Witch.Mybe Storm just got bored, what
do you think?
27.
SUPERSTAR
The Combination of Super Girl and Star Fire
is hot. YAY. LITERALLY hot! This Gal could
burn you. So be sure TO RUN when she say to you,
"What are you looking at?" or you'll end up a
barbe que.
