This week I would like to take the opportunity to discuss stamps. Quite often stamps are mistaken as an actual dA feature but actually they are exactly like any other image or thumbcode. These stamps can be placed in journals and shoutboard.
So how do you place stamps into your journals and shoutboard? There are two ways to put stamps into these areas. If the stamp is a deviation you can easily use the
thumbnail code and place it into the text area of your journal or shoutboard. If it is an outside source you can use an
image code.
Where can I find more stamps? You can find more stamps by browsing
deviantART Related > Deviant Stamps.
** Please note to post thumbnails in your journal or shoutboard you must be a subscriber.
y2jenn's Corner
Hey, Jenn! How do I link images from deviantART to my website?
This is a simple process, young deviant! We don't allow direct hotlinking to the images from our server, such as using the HTML image tags to swipe the source file. So, we have two separate systems which allow the controlled display of deviantART submissions on third party websites (like your MySpace page or blog).
The first system is the
Embed function, which allows you to display one big thumbnail of one of your, or another user's, pieces. The embed code can be found on the individual deviation pages under the information just to the right of the description. This function can be allowed or disallowed by the owner of the deviation so not all deviations will have this option enabled.
The second system is the
Pasties function, which allows you to featured multiple deviations on your web page, blog or wherever you'd like. Some examples being daily top favorites from a particular category for the day, your own recent submissions or favorites. A whole range of other options for Pasties is available.
You can see the full list of available Pastie types on your
Settings page. Please be aware that many of the options will only be available to you if you're a Subscriber.
Weekly Tip
Did you ever wonder how to create links to other users, deviations, or websites? If so,

82% of statistics in signatures are made up.
Spreading them is un-original and sheepish. If you agree, copy this in your... wait, no!
No to signature clichés! You are on an art site, be creative!
