SCANOGRAPHY - a photographic technique for light printing
It's an work done with digital resourses (scanner and
printer) on an original intaglio print plate.
It's best described as a combination of traditional art
printmaking techniques and computer graphic prepress
techniques, although the opportunities afford stretch way
beyond mere layout.
This is a reflex print of the plate lit up by the scanner,
the colours being obtained through the play of light itself
during the scannng and the possibility of positive and
negative scanning. The final phase is the impression or
printout.
It's great for documenting phases of work on your plate or
for printing the whole work as opposed to the traditional
one where u need a printing press, expensive colors, and a
workshop or a room where to do it. In this case only thing
you need is a scanner, photoshop or any other alternative
photoprocessor and a printer. and to add to that many
alterations can be made to the work as you choose.
Made an example on my work (dont know any other way to post them so u can see in my profile bigger images and the difference in detail and so on)

2. Scanography ->

-
have to make a note that scanography is best made on a
plate not yet used for traditional printing cause of wear
and tear and the possibility of color cought up in scratches
that make the scan less good. (2.nd example one is a scan after 20
orig. prints)
