Original Anime Mascot Contest

Many anime have that iconic mascot character everyone seems to love. Cute, lovable, friendly critters of all shapes and sizes. Sometimes they're wise, helping the main characters fulfill their destinies; sometimes they're just goofy comic relief, there to lighten the mood. And sometimes, they're just there to be cute. But above all they are instantly recognizable and...marketable. :P

There's lots of characters like this; some examples are Keroberos from Card Captor Sakura, Kon from Bleach, Ryo-Ohki from Tenchi Muyo, or Penpen from Evangelion.

The object of this contest is to create your very own original anime mascot-style character!

RULES:
:bulletred:The work must be your own original work. No fan art! Original characters only are accepted.
:bulletblue:You must create a new work for this contest. You are not allowed to submit items already in your gallery. It's fine if it's a pre-existing original character of yours, just do an updated drawing.
:bulletred:Any media is welcome!
:bulletblue:Creatures created for the contest should be just that: a creature. Your mascot character shouldn't be human.
:bulletred:Design is important, but tell us what your mascot character does too! Entries will be judged more on their originality and creativity over technical skill. But that doesn't mean you should be lazy with your drawings, either. ;)
:bulletblue:You can enter up to two different characters, but you can only win once. Please upload your entries separately.
:bulletred:Please upload your entries to Comumminty Projects > Contests > 2008 > Original Anime Mascots. If you do not upload them to this gallery, we will not see your entries!

It'd also be helpful to mention the contest in your description so I don't mistake it as being miscategorized. =D

Oh, and when explaining what mascots were, you forgot to mention Fella. He's our mascot, and a perfect example. :lol:

I think I may enter this just for the hell of it all. :)

I do have a question though. Does the mascot have to be a new character that we create, or can they already exist somewhere in our galleries? And does a stick figure count as a human? :giggle:

Hm... now only if my sketchbook and I weren't several rooms apart right now.
