Power of the Political | 2007

`RockGirl1582:iconRockGirl1582: reports, January 3, 2008
Politic
1427, from M.Fr. politique (14c.) "political," from L. politicus "of citizens or the state, civil, civic," from Gk. politikos "of citizens or the state," from polites "citizen," from polis "city" (see policy (1)). Replaced in most adj. senses by political (1551). The verb meaning "to engage in political activity" is first recorded 1917, a back-formation from politics.

Online Etymology Dictionary, © 2001 Douglas Harper

This is only a glimpse of some of the fine paintings submitted to Political in 2007; a well thought out, powerful and emotional gallery.*

I think the first deviation gives quite a good view of America.
Spending big money on the war in Iraque and when all the money and oil is gone they have an economic crisis. America, go use other fuels, don't stay on oil, cause it will dissappear!

Awesome idea for an article, this is a subject that gets far too little credit but leaves the biggest historical impact.

thank you so much for bringing these works to light of day. the aim of my art is to say things and share the truth, and it's nice to see other people out there expressing their views on these things too.

i dont usually make a second comment, but i have to say i am flattered to be surrounded by all of your work up there.. looking over it the past few days has been nagging and pulling at me to dig much deeper,,, many of these communicate with me in a way that i too should dare to speak... though mine is alright, it is essentially a 'depiction', something different than the others presented, and i want to offer up some deep admiration for all of these. thanks.

Politiklol.

Hmm. That sounds like some sort of prescription medication.
:iconamandarobbins:
So its okay for people to agree with the views publically, but you want anyone who disagrees with them to note you privately or shut up and keep their opinions to themselves?

Slander has nothing to do with disagreeing with someone's political opinions, by the way.
