reports, January 3, 2008The website Skem9.com, a website dedicated to layouts, generators, and other such web features, is currently overridden with copyright images. Many of these images belong to members of the DA community.
The owner of the site, John, and a number of his mods work hard to remove layouts that violate copyright. However, it is not enough, and they could always use more help.
This is a notice to all members of DA: If you think your art may have been stolen, if it has been stolen before, or even if it has never been stolen, please visit the site and look around. If you see an image belonging to a DA artist, use the "Report this Layout" link places on every layout page to report them.
Please be sure to have a link to the original artist. DO NOT contact the person who submitted the layout directly, since it will only cause more problems than necessary. Reporting the layout will be sufficient.
These are some of the artists I have seen stolen work from:

and myself
Even though there are many more sites like Skem9.com that have stolen images, every little bit helps in the fight against Copyright violations.

Its sickening that there are so many websites that have ripped peices on thier pages. And some websites do nothing about it, Its the same with Youtube and other video sites, Full and unpaid for movies can be stolen everyday without the uploader even giving a shit about what he/she's doing, all this is praticly like going into a shop and stealing a peice of art to hang on your wall.

I agree that all work should have a watermark. A lot of people hate that, and bitch about it, but I see those people as usually the ones who do the stealing in the first place.
I watermark ALL my images, and even have my copyright info put on all my prints. It is all to easy to scan and image on a high resolution scanner these days.
