People have become obsessed with the Eastern-styled Animu villain, or anti-villain.
Everybody's got to be 'edgy' or 'have a past'. (and $50 hipster haircuts).
One isn't even considered worthy or valid on a basic level unless one has the prerequisite iota of Badness.

It's our fault, really. The consumer culture just eats up the Hot Topic novelty of the reformed villain, the moralistic blackguard, the fiend for whom Love did so much.

This OC Battle Contest is only for those characters who:

A) have a mental condition (ideally multiple personality disorder)

B) have a "dark side"

C) have something inside them like a beast/lizard/bat/dragon/werewolf/demon/whatever (think Naruto's Nine Tailed Fox)

D) are "half" something (half vampire, half dragon, half Bosnian, whatev.)

E) are Really, REALLY edgy

I'm going to somewhat base it off the format of 's Haunted Mansion and 's Enzone (tried and true!). There will be multiple areas, additional points awarded for certain cameos and cliches and such during the rounds, and the final two people will not verse each other, they will each make an entry versing Gorger. The better entry will be the WINNAR!!!11!!one!!!1!!


Every contestant will vote. If you do not vote, or vote and do not leave a coherent comment along with each vote, you will lose points and your votes will not count.

I'm still fleshing it out. But the #1 winner will receive a one year subscription and maybe some other prizes if I can find some prize givers.

#2 winner will get a three month sub and some lesser prizes (again, maybe)

and the #3 winner will get a one month subscription and perhaps some lesser prizes as well.


THE WHOLE THING will take place in dear sweet Gregor's mind-world. With places like Visible Memories, where you can put on a mask and take on the dreams and memories of somebody Gorger has eaten. Or Pipe Dreams where you and your opponent can both use unparalleled weapons and dreamed-allies of destruction and wonder (if you both have them, it kind of evens out). Or the wasteland, Gorger's favorite hang out. Or the Imagination, a burnt-out forest where the terrifying troll Rog, and the sinister skeleton Reg dwell and root out any other manias or waking dreams that would try to take Gorger's place.

There will of course be others.

Remember, the deadline for entry will be set by me some time after the DeviantART Battle Royale is completed (I must fulfill my duties as a judge there, after all)



The purpose of this contest will be far more malignant than this, however.

Each loser must make a short, bittersweet piece (doesn't matter how small or crappy, it must exist) where all their BADNESS and unhappy whatevers resolve in a fiery cataclysm, and they become normal. white. bread. people.
And then Gorger eats them. Ha ha. Ha.

You see, Gorger exists in a sort of personal dream state where the only thing that matters to him is that he destroys all life.

Beyond that, his worst enemy is the "bad boy", the vigilante, the anti-hero. He is disgusted that people like this would think that their petty pasts and feelings would matter in his world. He sees that they think there should be a pecking order in his dream, where their actions would have consequences that matter. Needless to say, he does not approve.


SOOOOOOO, what do you all think?

(P.S. if the winner of each round, and especially, the winner of the contest, should make entries where bit by bit they become happier, more well-adjusted people, they will receive extra "martyr" points. KA-CHING!)
