Artists United Against Climate Change Contest

~Introduction~
Global warming, oh yes, our “daily bread”. You’ve heard it on tv news, radio, newspapers, school. The reports of the weather instability around the world, the accelerated melting of the Artic Ice, the change of behavior in certain animals, etc.

When we talk about global warming people are divided into 4 different opinions.
Those who don’t believe, the ones who don’t care, the ones who are not sure, and the ones who are very concerned.
But, what’s your opinion on Climate Change?

My opinion: Well, the world in which I live is not permanent, is not made of 100% steel, is not anti-pollution and it certainly won’t last forever. I really care about it, because it’s not only my planet, it’s my children’s future, yours’ and for all the following generations.

~The challenge – Contest Bases~
-2008 is here. Shouldn’t we start with the right foot? Most of you know this is a huge problem and that we, individually, can’t do much about it. But believe me, there are so many things we can do, which multiplied by millions of others like you, result into a powerful aid to our “(p)lanet’s health”. >> [link] <<
One of these things is spreading the word. One person incites another person, and then this person to another, and so on. When a whole community is aware of this problem, we can all work together to make it a better, cleaner, healthier place to live in. When time to vote for a political candidate come, we’ll sure have one more issue in hand, and we’ll support that candidate who will also take in consideration our planets’ future by creating earth friendly and energy efficient laws. This applies to all countries around the world.

-This is a contest for everyone. Any type of artists (except writing). From anime artist, to Illustrators, Comics, Pixel, Photographers, etc. Everyone will have opportunity to win.
But, how good are you in expressing your emotions through your art?

What will you do?
-Submit a piece of art/photo that represents you deepest feelings and concern about Global Warming.
Create a piece of art that will incite the viewer, that shows your love, passion, admiration, (any type of positive feeling) towards Mother Earth and how important it is for us to take action now.
Anything that you believe will change the mind, heart, and feelings of those who either still don’t believe or don’t care about this situation.

Hint 1: Emotive Portraits/Deviations should work perfect.
Hint 2: Might want to type a couple of things to express better your idea/feeling.

I made a stamp as an example [link] It doesn’t have the best animation, but just see how I try to provoke feelings of concern, and love for my planet and a call for action.


~Rules - ALL Important~ (Subject to Change and Additions)
1. Subscribe here first [link] Simply post in my personal Forum to join.
2. Must be your own piece of Art. Created by you and only you.
3. Must be made for this Art Contest Only and for this purpose.
4. Deviant must have at least 1k pageviews. [I really don’t want outsiders to simply jump into the contest.]

~How the Finalists and Winners will be selected~
There are only Two elements of your artwork that will be taken in consideration. The first one is the most important.

1. Feeling in it: How good your art expresses both, your feelings and concern about our Planet.

2. Quality: How pretty/good/awesome your art is and how it works together with your idea to express the strongest feeling.

Important Note: the first element is the most important, if your work shows a strong feeling, but doesn’t look so good or is very simple; it has a great chance to win.
If you work looks the best, but doesn’t have a strong feeling in it, it doesn’t have much chance to win. If you work shows both, it’ll most likely be one of the winners. :3

For now I’m thinking about cash only. I will change this if there is a problem.

~Important Notes about the Prizes~
a. Donations/Features are accepted. You’ll be responsible for giving your own prize. Note me to add you to list. Tell me what you will donate and for what Place.
b. For cash prizes you must have a Paypal Account. If too young to own a credit card, ask your parents to open a Paypal account [link] . Otherwise I’ll ask you to choose a well-known store (USA only –Target, JC penny, etc.) and I’ll mail you gift cards with the same value.
c. The more people participate, the more likely the prizes will increase.

Concurso - Artistas Unidos en Contra del Cambio Climático (AUACC)


~Introduccion~
Calentamiento Global, así es, Nuestro Pan de cada día. Lo has escuchado en la TV, en la radio, periódicos, escuela. Los reportes de la inestabilidad en el estado del tiempo alrededor del mundo, el acelerado derretimiento del hielo ártico, el cambio de comportamiento en varios animales, etc.

Cuando hablamos del Calentamiento Global, la gente se divide en diferentes opiniones.
Esos que no creen, los que no les importa, los que no están seguros, y los que están muy preocupados.
¿(P)ero, cual es tu opinión sobre el Cambio climático?

Mi Opinión: Bueno, el mundo en el que vivo no es permanente, no esta hecho de 100% metal, no es anti-polución, y ciertamente no existirá para siempre. Me importa por que no es solamente mi planeta, es la de mis futuros hijos, los tuyos, y la de todas las próximas generaciones.

~El Reto – Bases del Concurso~
-El año 2008 ya esta aquí. No deberíamos empezar con el pie derecho? La mayoría de ustedes saben que este es un problema grave, y que nosotros, individualmente, no podemos hacer mucho sobre esto. Pero en realidad, hay tantas cosas que hacer, las cuales multiplicadas por otros millones de gente como tú, resulta en una grande ayuda para la “salud de nuestro planeta” >>[link] Ingles solamente <<
Una de tantas cosas que podemos hacer es difundir el mensaje. Una persona incita a otra persona, ésta a otra persona y así sucesivamente. Cuando una comunidad entera esta al tanto de estos problemas, todos podemos trabajar juntos para hacer un mejor lugar para vivir, mas limpio y sano. Cuando llegue el tiempo de votar por un candidato político, tendremos un problema más el cual tener en consideración y apoyaremos ese candidato que hará algo por este problema, haciendo mejores leyes para ayudar al planeta y ahorrar energía. Es un problema global!

-Este es un concurso para todos. Cualquier tipo de artista (excepto escritores). Desde artista de Anime, Ilustradores, Comics, Píxel, Fotógrafos, etc. Todos tendran oportunidad de ganar. ¿(P)ero, que tan bueno eres expresando tus emociones a través de tu arte?

¿Que Haras?
-Sube una obra de arte/foto que represente tus mas profundos sentimientos y preocupaciones sobre el Calentamiento Global.
Crea algo que incite el espectador, que muestre tu amor, pasión, admiración (cualquier sentimiento positivo) sobre la Madre Tierra y cuan importante es que tomemos acción ahora.
Cualquier cosa que tu creas que cambiara la mente, el corazón, y sentimientos de esos que todavía no creen o que no les importa.
Pista 1: Fotos/Dibujos Emotivos harían un buen trabajo
Pista 2: Talvez deberías escribir algo pequeño para expresar mejor tus sentimientos.

Hice una estampa como ejemplo, [link] No tiene la mejor animación, pero vean como trato de provocar sentimientos de preocupación, y amor por mi planeta, y también un llamado para tomar acción.

~Reglas – Todas Importantes~ (Sujetas a cambios o adiciones)
1. Suscribete aquí primero [link] Solamente postea en mi Journal Personal.
2. Tiene que ser tu propia obra de arte/foto. Hecha por ti, y solamente por ti.
3. Tiene que ser hecha específicamente para este concurso y para esta ocasión.
4. Deviante tiene que tener por lo menos 1k pageviews [No quiero que gente fuera de dA se metan de repente al concurso]

~Como seran selecionados los finalistas y Ganadores~
Hay solamente Dos elementos que seran considerados. El primero el mas importante.
1. Sentimiento: Que tan bien tu obra de arte expresa ambos, tus sentimientos y tu preocupación sobre nuestro planeta.

2. Calidad: Que tan bonito/bueno/maravilloso tu arte/foto es, y como su belleza trabaja junto con tu idea para expresar un sentimiento fuerte.

Nota Importante: la primera es mas importante, si tu trabajo muestra un sentimiento fuerte, pero no se ve tan bien, o es bien simple, tiene una gran posibilidad de ganar. Si tu trabajo es el mas bonito, pero no muestra mucho sentimiento, no tiene mucha posibilidad de ganar. Si tu trabajo muestra ambos, puede que sea uno de los ganadores :3

~Notas Importantes sobre los Premios~

a. Donaciones/Features son aceptados. Serás responsable por entregar tus propios premios. Mandame una nota para añadirte a la lista. Dime que regalarás y para que lugar.
b. Para los premios en efectivo, tienes que tener una cuenta Paypal. Si eres muy joven para tener tarjeta de crédito, puedes pedirles a tus padres que abran una cuenta Paypal [link]. De otra manera, te pediré que escojas una tienda conocida (en U.S. solamente – Target, JC Penny, etc.) y te mandare las gift cards del mismo valor por correo.
c. Mientras mas gente participe, los premios incrementaran.
