In conjunction with Mary Lou Wallner-- creator and founder of T.E.A.C.H. an organization specializing in encouraging parents to accept and love their gay children, the Community Projects Gallery is hosting a "Create an Icon/Logo for Change" contest!

I contacted Mary in November after reading her story in People magazine. Her courage and strength is an incredible source of inspiration. She has chosen to fight against all odds against two sides that could literally slay her! The religious right, and the anti Christian. What courage she has and after losing her daughter to suicide, being surrounded by such hatred and controversy.

I knew without a shadow of a doubt that would be the place we could get something done. I went to her web site and it was drab, lifeless, no logo, nothing. Just the incredible message this woman is desperately trying to pass on. Unconditional Love. What could I/us give her? Our art of course!!

This contest is for the logo, but I am also looking for Web design and anything else we might conjure up!! When I discussed this with her you could hear the joy, perhaps tears in her eyes that we would do such a thing. She just wanted to see us spread the news, awareness is the key to change. She is very excited. It was hard to put this on hold until the new year!

Mary was featured in the Nov 19th People Magazine, and her story is highlighted and featured in the 2007 Movie "The Bible Tells Me So" which has won the:

This will help spread news of this incredible movement and raise awareness and encourage deviants to create something of substantial worth.
