How to be a Subtle Rebel

*Simanion:iconSimanion: reports, 15h 47m ago
Through Science, it has recently been discovered that not all rebels have to be militant radicals, hell-bent on revolutionary war. It is now possible to live your life as a “Subtle Rebel”, going against the grain and being badass in your own unique and special way, very slowly (but undeniably) and single-handedly changing society forever. Here are some of at least two more ways in which you can say a big “go away please” to social convention and change the world...

Imagination and Forgetfulness

=mamma-chicken:iconmamma-chicken: reports, January 10
Today a friend showed me this article: [link]
which I thought was very interesting, and decided to share with the community. It is about how as people grow older their imagination declines, but so too does their memory of past events. Essentially it is about how episodic memory works in both directions in time.

Reminds me of a moment of brilliance for Freud: "What a distressing contrast there is between the radiant intelligence of the child and the feeble mentality of the average adult"

Who said being big kids was a bad thing :)

I've always had the idea that adults don't use their imagination the way they should and that's why kids ultimately have more fun. Now this study supports that. So I say adults should be more like kids and should use their imagination. I wonder if using your imagination would help with episodic memory? That could be a new study to be done. And if no one does it anytime soon why then I'll just have to do it myself. Lol.
