This feature was inspired by s9's "Life Is But A Dream."


I love photomanipulations, but many traditional photographs are what strike me the most. Some strange and off-kilter experiences just cant be created; part of what makes them startling is that they actually exist.


Its a reminder that the truest surreal experience is life itself, and the old expression, "truth is stranger than fiction" still holds true.


These are photographs that left an imprint on my mind. Some of them are very subtle in regards to being "surreal," but capture a peice of time that in itself makes me marvel at being here and alive, as corny as that sounds. Some of these photgraphs, to me, are perfect moments.

Others have a profoundly whimsical, mysterious quality to them.

Some photographs speak to use in a cultural or social context.
Some may startle or upset you.
Some are intentionally so, to speak about an issue and some are strictly for the sake of being visually surreal.



Basically, these are about our collective consciousness and our perceptions. I hope you come away with something to think about.
