`GeneratingHype on letters, editing and GDship

^lovetodeviate:iconlovetodeviate: reports, August 30
An interview with ex-GD, writer, editor, fascinating person: `GeneratingHype. Here are some tidbits from the interview (which I recommend reading in full):

"Letters presuppose a sort of authenticity, and I truly believe that a story—no matter the form—needs to be authentic and believable.

"Sometimes I wish I had stories such as "I wrote my first published poem at three and a half!" or "I started writing stories at two!", but writing never came easy for me and is still not very easy for me.

The Use of Adverbs in Fiction Writing

=DarcKnyt:iconDarcKnyt: reports, August 29
Adverbs are the endangered species of the adult fiction world. They're frowned on like putting a Baby Ruth bar in a punch bowl at a wedding reception -- not a good idea. They're also indicative of weak writing ... but why? This article covers why adverbs are evil and what you can do to avoid using them.

Blind Spots: Feature One

~SesshysRose:iconSesshysRose: reports, January 11
It seems to me that the attention due to literary artists on this site is somewhat lacking. I plan on creating a monthly (if not even more frequently) News article to feature literary works done by artists on this site! Feel free to send me suggestions...even if they include pieces of your own...:giggle:

"Kiss" by *crowhesghost

"One Silent Night" by ~Prince-Poison

"To Your Grave" by ~fizzleout

"Last Winter" by ~mistressadore

"No More" by ~attackpanther

"Lexus" by ~Disastercake *Includes mature content*

This is what I'll start out with...until I receive some suggestions I'll be using pieces mostly in my favorites collection...:heart:Show some love to the writers of dA!!...we sure can use it!!!

:blowkiss: Until Next Time!

Baby why'd u leave me,why'd u have to go I was countin on forever now I'll never know.I cant even breathe. Its like I'm lookin from a distance, standin in the background. This can't be happening to me.This is just a dream
~xellikat:iconxellikat: Jan 11, 2008, 6:25:24 PM
this is a good idea, since some of the literature i have seen as the best is sadly lacking in favortism only because the deviant is not known by many :D
~Techno-sexual:iconTechno-sexual: Jan 11, 2008, 8:02:28 PM
Great idea! I've been here for quite a while, and it is time that writers are given some spotlight!

And if I were to be featured, that would definitely give me the boost to start writing more. :)

As the first person to fav the article...you'll be in the next issue! I agree...I mostly write...and I have seen such good writers on this site with nobody even knowing they're here...the title of the News article fits...when in a car...the blind spot is the spot you can't see! :) Thanks for your support!

Aww, that's sweet of you! Thank you.

I like the title too. It's simply fitting. Maybe the article can inspire people as well.

I hope so! I'm looking forward to making a difference...literature can be so inspiring...unfortunately so many people aren't willing to take a second to read a poem...and only look at the pictures...kind of disheartening when you put so much into a piece of literature (just as much as an artist of any other type most of the time, I might add) and people can't take a second to read!!! I never understood how people could not like to read!!!! lol

FAQ #565: You prohibit the submission of 'pornographic material'; what do you consider this to be?

Only fools are enslaved by time and space.
Let's put our 3D glasses on, hop in the TARDIS, and go to a magical island with time traveling bunnies on it; shall we?
~Techno-sexual:iconTechno-sexual: Jan 11, 2008, 8:18:14 PM
I've been wanting to know the answer to that question for years! I admit that I've been a bit lazy in the all-things-writing department, but I appreciate the written word, and I have plans to be more actively involved.

Maybe everyone feels rushed, and it's just easier to look at pictures? I don't know, but come one people! Reading increases your intellectualism!
