An amazing assortment of nine DD-worthy Deviations lined up & featured for your viewing pleasure! Now with free puppies! (Disclaimer: Puppies may be imaginary. And may be killer mutants.)
This was started on Wednesday, June 24th and finished on Thursday, June 25th - this was something I worked on for a fair-few hours both days. A true labor of love, it was born out of a need to express myself and to give a voice to my seemingly long-dead, creative soul. With one person in mind in the middle of a maelstrom of imagery, I tried my very best to not only craft a dedication to this person, but to a younger, purer self - something I believe my focus still has. It took a while, but I finally found a balance between words & imagery I was content with - building into the fabric of words an utterly gorgeous collection of features, deviations I have both loved for a very, very long time and some I found that night/morning.
It was suggested that I create a news article on this, to share it with more people and give others a more pointed chance to appreciate it, so I have indulged. I hope it is worthy.
Daniela this is, among other things, a dedication... to you.

The beauty of the cherry blossom truly grows when one studies the meaning behind it. Different Oriental cultures attribute different meanings to this delicate flower:
"For the Chinese the cherry blossom is a very significant symbol of power. Typically it represent a feminine beauty and sexuality and often holds an idea of power or feminine dominance. Within the language of herbs and herbal lore of the Chinese the cherry blossom is often the symbol of love.
For the Japanese the cherry blossom holds very different meaning. The cherry blossom is a very delicate flower that blooms for a very short time. For the Japanese this represents the transience of life....
The fallen cherry blossom is not taken lightly in Japanese symbolism either. It often represents the beauty of snow and there are many connections made in Japanese literature or poetry to a fallen cherry blossom and snow." ( [link] )
Featured below are some beautiful representations of cherry blossoms found throughout the DA community.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
