Google went walkabout. Brought back Google Wave.

`thespook:iconthespook: reports, May 29
"Google Wave is a new tool for communication and collaboration on the web, coming later this year."

It takes email and IM, and turns it into the sort of communication tools we've become used to on deviantart, and way more. The video demonstration (found at the end of the post) is nearly an hour and a half long, but it'll blow your mind.

Do The Windows Wubi Wubi Woo

~Twarrior:iconTwarrior: reports, 2d 4h ago
Most of you Windows Users out there have heard of Linux, have heard how great it is, are glad you don't have to spend tons of money on a MAC to be rid of the Microsoft Plagues -- BUT -- you have some natural apprehension towards Linux, as well as some valid questions about it. Well, lucky for you that all of the stigma behind its supposed "over complexness" is pure myth. This comes from a time many, many years ago when it was more complex and no one was familiar with it. But that was then and this is now.

----

MacBook Air: "The World's Thinnest Notebook", MacBook Air is 0.16" to 0.76"! The thickest part of the MacBook Air is thinner than the thinnest part of the thinnest laptop currently available (wow thats alot of "thins"). It fits inside a manila envelope. It uses a Magnetic latch, and has a 13.3" widescreen display. The display is LED backlit. Has an iSight built-in camera. A MacBook-like keyboard, but with an ambient light sensor. Make use of apple multi-touch technology with a Multi-touch trackpad. New trackpad features allow you to Move a window by double-tap and move. Rotate a photo by pivoting your index finger around your thumb. Of course, pinch & zoom. The MacBook Air has a 1.8" 80 GB hard disk (standard), 64 GB SSD as an option. 1.6 GHz (Standard), 1.8 GHz Option - Intel Core 2 Duo. Apple asked Intel to shrink the Core 2 Duo. Intel shrunk the processor by 60%. Uses a 45 Watt MagSafe adapter to charge the device, 1 USB 2.0 port, Micro-DVI, Audio Out, 802.11n + Bluetooth 2.1/EDR. As expected there is no optical drive, but a Superdrive accessory is available for $99. Also, software comes with the MacBook Air that allows you to "borrow" a Mac or PCs optical drivE. The MacBook Air has a 5 hour Battery Life, 2 GB Memory (standard). With Gore breathing down their neck you know Apple had to make this Environmentally friendly. These Environmental highlights are: It is a fully aluminum case (good for recycling), It is the first fully mercury and lead free display, the circuit boards are BFR free, and the retail packaging is 56% less volume than the current MacBook.

$1799 - Pre-orders starting today, and start shipping in two weeks

For a full rundown please make sure and visit the Apple Website to watch the full KeyNote address.

This is an Amazing start to the new year. We can only image what else is in store for us as the year progresses.

i can do all that on my touch. webclips i can do that too in a way..But I can have as many as I want. as much as I like Apple they must be crazy if they think I'm going to give them another $20 after I just paid $300. I just got my touch. it should be free for people who just purchased the ipod touch.

Macbook Air is awesome, but i think it's too expensive, and its performances aren't the same of a Macbook Pro, therefore it is not a good price, this is my opinion. :)
Btw, i have a Macpro, so, if i want buy a Macbook Air i can buy it, but it is a waste of money. :)

Agreed. That is a bit of a letdown. iPhone gets a free upgrade, I don't see why we don't. I'm not even gonna use most of them. At least it's a step in the right direction software wise.

The thing is I don't think it is supposed to compete with the pro. I also have a pro and love what I can do with it, but I can just as easily see someone who travels alot, say someone who works for natgeo who needs ultra portability, using this on a daily basis. Money is a bit steep, but man look at the size.

Totally agree with you, dude. I'm going for the 500GB. I was thinking of the 1TB, but it's too much storage and I don't need that much. Plus, what I like about the Time Capsule is that I can connect my printer to it so I can print wirelessly.

I will go for a 500gb too, it's actually very affordable.
I have a Western Digital NAS in the same capacity which recently crashed, I'm really pissed at the low reliability of it, so the Time Capsule came at the right time ;)
