What is Australia Day? Australia Day is the commemoration of the First Fleet, the first European settlement in New South Wales, landing in Port Jackson in 1788. Australia Day is now a national and a public holiday. Australia Day is officaly held on January 26.
What do you do on Australia Day? Australia Day is for coming together as a nation. Australia Day is meant for enjoying in what is wonderful about Australia, and being an Australian. It's the day to reflect on what we have achieved, and what we can be proud of.
