I would like to thank ^
RockGirl1582 for the time she spent putting together some information about the Traditional Art Gallery.
Traditional Art is the beginning of it all, and as such, it's obviously a very extense and rich part of our community. The Traditional (or Trad, in dA's lingo) galleries are
"...the base point for all original creativity and a collective of paintings, sculptures, graffiti, tattoo-design and mixed media. To name some of the more popular galleries." as she pointed out.
deviantART has a concentration of traditional artists that use their talent to express varied opinions, to send out a message, or simply to depict beauty (or not) through art.
One of the biggest concerns of the community are the miscategorizations
"...as many artists will still classify their work under Traditional when it was only lined out on paper; coloured in Photoshop (for example). , she explained me.

RockGirl1582 also explained me that (in her opinion), Traditional Art and Photography are tied very closely.
....I believe that it has everything to do with Photography, as the roots of photography are contained within traditional art. Both need to see and interact with the real world to produce any work." I had a lot of fun browsing through the Traditional Art Galleries and I'm very much impressed by the great display of talent of our community artists. It's amazing.

I would like to share some thumbs from my favorite genre, Surreal, with you:
