Ijtema.net, A Congregation of Muslim Bloggers is a site that gathers together the best of the Muslim blogosphere in one place, as a showcase of real Muslim voices, and real Muslim talent.

As part of their drive to introduce more varied content, the Ijtema team have recently launched a photo contest, titled: “New Year, New Hope“.

Now this is the part that gets really crazy!

For whatever reason, I mean somebody must have smoked or drank something dodgy because they have made me a guest judge. The artist, Samir Malik, has also agreed to take part as guest judge, and we will be creating two unique pieces of art to donate as first prize.

In addition, all entrants will be entered into Ijtema's Muslim Artist directory, which will form the basis of their new, soon-to-be-launched Photography & Art section. So everyone's a winner!
