After a brief leave of absence in January, *
WordCount is back in action for February and were happy to present our eighth prose feature. This is our first feature of the new year, and while we may have gone quiet publicly, behind the scenes our staff has been working just as diligently to pull another fine collection of pieces together. And as always, you'll find it jam-packed with some of the finest examples of prose on deviantArt. We hope you enjoy it!

Published Works
SoundzineSoundzine is an online journal for the spoken word. Poetry and stories can be traced at least as far back as Homer, who recited his epics by torch or firelight. It was born and flourished in the milieu of the cadences, inflections and stresses of the human voice. We're not presumptuous enough to think we'll revolutionize the world of literature by turning to the roots of things, which is the real meaning of "radical," but we do think that the modern digital world offers an opportunity to enrich and enliven an art that has waned of late. The deviantArt literature community is not only represented in the staff of ~
Soundzine but also featured in the issues! Check out all
four installmentsreleased so far and reconnect with the spoken word.
We also highly recommend adding the
Soundzine deviantArt account to your watchlist to keep abreast of future releases (and the occasional contest):
