Alright, so welcome to another edition of Mini-DDs, the little set of features highlighting the best in DD-worthy artwork (NOTE: Your definition of "best" may vary)!

And so we begin this week with the last plug I'll have to do for the Mini-DDs Best Of 2007 Extravaganza...Seriously, go check it out already if you haven't!

Alright, so welcome to the latest edition of Mini-DDs, featuring...Eh, I've run out of clever ways to introduce all of this for now, so why not just get down to the nitty-gritty?

Well, the time has come for the climax to the Mini-DDs Best Of 2007 Extravaganza: All of the votes have been counted, the ties have been broken, & the winners decided. And thus the ultimate winners will be announced tonight, come hell or high water. And trust me, I'll try to put on the best show possible!

And furthermore...Um...Well, that's all I really have to say this week.

Huh. It just dawned on me that without any insane projects or events to do, then I really don't have much to say in this little part before the features...Damn.

Well, then again, I do have one insane plan in the works...Though it may actually alter what goes on here in the Mini-DDs...

But enough with the possibly semi-ominous foreshadowing, let's just get to the mian event already!

Okay, so if you don't know by now, the featured artists here each receive the Golden Fefcaine Award:



...My little prestigious token of appreciation for anyone who created some amazing, DD-worthy artwork. Plus it has a delicious milk chocolate center! And this week we throw in mint flavoring & whipped cream into the mix! That should be interesting, to say the least...

Alright now, on with the show! Here's this week's Mini-DDs...



Now, whenever ^skifi & *seel-dingo do a collaboration - like with Heroes 2008 - that's your cue to get excited. These two have never done anything together that wasn't excellent, & their record still stands. Between the dingo's amazing style & lineart, the bull's excellent coloring & details, & the cool, classic, & unique characters between everyone (let's not forget the chameleon), what isn't there to love?



Man, I am always a sucker for a well-designed & cartoonish t-shirt design, & ~smarvo definitely delivers the goods here. Showcasing a funky character design, a nice color scheme, a simple yet cool & eye-pleasing style, & even a nice little sense of humor, this would definitely make for one t-shirt that I's like to add to my wardrobe.



=Inzekkt is one truly talented artist with one truly kickass sugnature character, as easily seen in eye-popping artwork such as dusk specimen. Amazing style, sweet colors, well-detailed...But it's the mood it creates, thanks to such elements as the simple yet sweet background & pose, that definitely acts as the cherry on top & truly makes this something to fave.



Now, even if Color Cover hadn't been drawn by the almighty Craig McCracken (which it was, under his DA pen name *CMcC), this still would be one truly excellent little cartoon. Everything here just works perfectly: The simple & fun little character, the warm & sweet colors, the unique & cool style, & the way it just perfectly has that Bone-style fantasy comic feeling...Truly awesome.



According to *gunmouth, 1Day Robots'll Kill Us All 02 is a piece he did for a project that sadly flopped, which brings up an important question: How the heck can anything featuring a robot with toast sticking out of his head fail?? Seriously, cool & cute character, great style, unique concept, well-detailed...Pure excellence all-around.



You know, I always find that some of the best Macabre & Horror Deviations are those that mix in a cartoonish style & a sense of humor...Just like with Rub mah belleh for gewd Luck by =Dokiestudioz. From the twisted & cool character design to the equally twisted & cool style to the just plain cool colors & details, everything here makes for one funny little drawing you just have to check out.



It all comes down to this: One imaginative twist on a classic fighting game character + A fun, cool, & perfect style to do the characters justice + Sweet colors, with a nice use of contrast + General sexiness, cuteness, & playfulness oozing out from every corner = Felicia Black and White by =katsuke-saito, a lovable piece of work that you shouldn't pass up on.



Ah, *missmonster, you always come up with such cool & stylish creature designs...& Oil monster is definitely no exception. It's just so funky, twisted, colorful, & lovable...& every little detail from the way it all just seems to flow to the way it feels like it came right out of a mythology textbook just makes it even more impressive. So what are you waiting for? Fave this now!



neck tar by ~weja...Because when you combine nectarines with surreal artwork, you're bound to strike gold. And of course, it doesn't hurt if you have a unique style, a simple & eye-popping color scheme, a freaky & cool character design, several cool little details...Well, you get the idea. Besides, how can you not love anything that has a ladybug for a nose?
