“The time of man has come and gone, and the Earth has fallen into chaos.
The gods, sustained by the faith of the very humans they have all but cleansed from the Earth, desperately vie for the last stands of faith that tie them to existence.
To keep their last hope alive, the gods send the humans to the safety of Penumbra, a land caught between the world of the living, and that of the dead.
In a clash greater than that of the end-times itself, the gods become locked in a battle that would decide the fate of the Earth for millenia to come. Losers would merely fade into obscurity without the faith of the few who remain-
But the winner would rise above them all and claim for himself all that remains.”
This contest takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth. Contestants are free to chose from any pantheon of god (redesigned in their style, of course), or create a new god just for this battle. The premise is simple- with the apocalypse over, the gods find themselves stunningly short on believers, so they battle it out to decide who no only keeps the faith of the few who remain, but who will hold domain over the entire earth.
Rules-> To join, just send at least one picture of your chosen god (a colored character sheet is best), plus a small introduction piece of your character (be it a comic, animation, or whatever). Also, we'd like to have a small biography of your chosen deity, so that he/she can be better portrayed by your opponents. You can send us all this information by note, with an appropriate title, of course (eg. contest entry)
-> We accept original deities and already existing ones. If you do create your own god though, please use some creativity, and don't make it completely ridiculous. (The jury reserves the right to veto characters.)
-> No monotheistic gods or omnipotence allowed. We also won't consider "invincibility" or "supreme weather control" as abilities either.
-> First come, first served. If someone has already submitted Zeus, you can't. Same goes for an original deity.
-> Violence is allowed (This
is a deathmatch), but please try to keep it under the "Mature" rating (no excess gore).
-> We had wanted to say "no sexism, racism, pornography whatsoever", but the problem is that some gods are, by their very nature, sexist and racist. So here's the deal: Use your better judgement, and try not to be too offensive.
-> We (the judges) don't want to be used in your entries, so don't draw us.
-> If you want to forfeit, you'll have to send a note to the admins or *
Battle-League's account.
-> This contest also features "random rules". That means that for each round, an additional rule or condition will come into effect. (nothing major) The first & last rounds, though, will be free of any additional rules.
If you're having trouble coming up with a deity, we recommend you take a look at these sites. You might a god that fits you perfectly:
