The Artist Relations Team was given an exciting project where we were paired up with someone from a different gallery, and we were challenged to teach eachother our galleries so we could better understand sections of deviantART that we may not be so familiar with. ^
rhapsouldize and I were paired with eachother, she started by learning the Artisan Crafts gallery, read about her experience
here^
rhapsouldize is Gallery Director for the Photography gallery and she's an awesome photographer
"I love photography because you can capture a moment in time and save it forever" I asked Meredith what makes a good photography in her eyes and here is what she answers:
For me, the best kind of photograph is one that moves the viewer and brings them right into that particular moment, as if they were experiencing it themselves.
Another important part is how the photographer relates to his or her subject, which really affects the expression that comes through the image. In order to be successful at portrait photography, you have to make your subjects feel comfortable enough to display their real emotions... not just put on a fake smile for the photo. With in mind I was assigned to browse in
Photography > People & Portraits and find 3 deviations I feel best convey this sort of relationship.

She also pointed out these articles written by ^

Miscats in Photograpy
Meredith, along with Elinor (^
equivoque) mostly handles miscats in Still Life and People & Portraits. They both help the other Gallery Directors in Photogprahy too.
Mostly it's about relocate them to a better sub-cat in Photography - ie a castle in Still Life relocates to Architecture -> Exterior
Sometimes photos of drawings or paintings are submitted in Photography, and they are relocated to a fitting gallery in Traditional Art
