This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
We choose photomanipulations that have made an impression on us from the past week. We do not base our choices on preference or friendships and we have never featured ourselves. We simply pick photomanipulations showing creativity, technique and quality at the same time, and are simply eye-catching. As we are also stock artists, we will only feature the works that give proper credits to stock artists.

ArtRage 3 - Watercolours in Digital? Surely Not!

=Flynn-the-cat:iconFlynn-the-cat: reports, 2d 15h ago
ArtRage 3 is finally released! ArtRage is an amazing painting program that acts a LOT like real paint! and the newest version is finally out - and this one has watercolours. And stickers (custom brushes) and is extremely fun and easy to use... and did I mention that the most expensive version is only $80?

The Future Stars of Photomanipulation #11

=Behana:iconBehana: reports, February 6, 2008
After the announcement that ~The-Undiscovered project has been closed, *Iardacil, who was a staff member there, felt that there is now big gap for featuring up and coming future artists. So, to try to fill that gap a little, she asked her dear and talented friend =Behana to help her and the result they produced this news article.

The aim of this article is to give exposure for promising, talented and outstanding photomanipulators, who have had little or no exposure so far. These deviants are chosen for their skill, works, originality and variety.

Maybe these fortnightly features combined with our words of encouragement will help some new photomanipulators catch some of the limelight, but also to give audience’s here some idea that in the world of photomanipulations there are no borders and the possibilities are endless. The only limit is your imagination.

There are four categories, all based on how many pageviews the deviant has. Under 100, Under 1 000, Under 5 000, Under 10 000, Under 20 000.

Under 100:

:bulletred:I was really surprised by ~reyestr’s gallery. For one that has under 50 pageviews he has a wonderful fresh grasp on photomanipulation that really inspired you to go out and do some more of your own work. Well worth a look!

:bulletpurple:~eine-von-vier has managed to put something mystical and dreamy on every work of her. The hard work on every detail of the background, soft and dreamy colors help her to create unforgettable fantasy images. A really promising gallery and I am eagerly waiting what kind of pieces will she make in future

Under 1 000:

:bulletblue:~Dezzan’s gallery is wonderfully and imaginatively original and unique. She draws on well used concepts but depicts them in a completely new light, with a dazzling new style. A lovely inspiring gallery that is already on my watchlist.

Under 5 000:

:bulletred:I love work that meakes me go all warm inside and this is exactly what *redbuffalo2001’s work does. Her subject matter and stock choices are not in the mainstream and that makes her gallery all the more lovely.

:bulletpurple:After looking at *draginchic gallery for ages I still couldn’t find the reason why I liked her work. Was it her texture use or her wonderful subject matter? Was it her lovely ideas or her skill? I tell you what you visit her gallery and tell me what you think.

:bulletblue:~ChristasVengel is an artist who has tried so many different things and have been good in all of them. Her unique eye for colors and creating atmosphere, forwarding emotions trough her works. The unique style she has, eye for composition and color balance - the result is something really impressive and I am eager to see what she comes out next.

:bulletred:*gjoa shows that manipulation does not always have to follow the stamps we are used to. He uses his own photography to create really dreamy, wonderland sceneries. Dreamy atmosphere, soft and magical colors, combined with great landscapes - unique difference in the world of photomanips.

:bulletpurple:~vimark really proves that first impression may not be right. I have followed his gallery from the beginning and I most say, first, I was not very impressed but lately, he has done such a great development that I feel even embraced I did not realized how talented he is, at the beginning. The ways he combines unique elements, has courage to look outside the usual boarders we have and has brilliant technique - what else could you want. And his gallery really shows and reflects his talent and originality.

Under 10 000:

:bulletblue:Ok. I’m not really one for surreal galleries but *NestR’s gallery has completely converted me. The more you look at his work the more you love it! He really has a unique viewpoints and style that luckily enough for us he wants to share.

:bulletred:*monstror has very unique and special, personal style gallery. Unique texturing, very monochrome colors with surreal and abstracts elements on every piece. You can endlessly look those words, and try to figure out what is there. And everytime you look, there is something new - endlessly changing, intriguing our imagination.

Under 20 000:

:bulletpurple:Ooo! I am so excited about *owel’s gallery. It’s beautiful, imaginative, original and unique, technically wonderful. I love her work and you should too!

:bulletblue:*fensterer has impressive gallery. First, I would think, you will notice those vivid, soft but very balanced colors. There is brightness on every work he has. The second really remarkable thing about his works, is the elements, objects - surreal feeling. Combining those two and his unique and great technique, the result is something refreshing, remarkable and worth to take a deep look
