I posted on the forum asking people to show me their green deviations and I got a lot of very good green deviations. Please show your support for these artists by faving their art and faving this article.
Art is distinctively a product of imagination, of that faculty of the mind which has to do with perceiving images, the image of one thing in the form of another. While science, therefore, may find a single form interesting in itself, art, at its best, never does. It looks for another form with which the first may be compared

Good discussion on the pros and cons of life drawing here [link] Thought the topic might be of interest to other traditional artists.. there has been some excellent points made.
Absolutely, and you must keep it up. I teach life drawing and most of the students go away thinking they have just discovered the best thing about art. You can always tell how much life drawing a portrait artist has done.

The stone age did not finish because they ran out of stones, something better came along. [link]
Thats so true... and yes I love watching the progress of my life drawings students over the years. They progress so to such greater levels then students who dont draw from the figure.
I suggest you to join the Florence Academy of Art forum at [link], there are questions just as this one plus so much information beyond, students galleries, anyhow... you belong there
Now it's time for September 2008 Visual Art Features, many new art to discover!
Don't forget that many artists need to be viewed, they deserve it! Fave Fave Fave! My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations. Artists need to be supported. So don't be shy!
Visit their pages, support them by faving, commenting, and when you see a deviation that you like also view their gallery entirely, like that you can decide if you will devwatch them or not. Viewing only a deviation (what is great) is not enough
And if you want to see your favorite visual artists or art selected to be in this feature for the next month, send me via note the links/thumbs!
`arcipello's artwork is instantly recognisable. His vibrant colours and sci-fi scenes are breathtaking at times, pulling you into a world where man and machine live in colourful harmony.
An inspiration to many, Daniel's dedication to his craft is evident throughout his gallery, with many of his beautiful prints hanging on walls across the globe. In recognition as being one of the most successful artists in our deviantART community, we're delighted to award this month's Deviousness Award to `arcipelloRead More
