Equinox

Whether it be the vernal equinox or the autumnal equinox (the first day of spring or the first day of autumn) that is drawing near in your parts of the planet, celebrate the transitions of light and season by participating in the Equinox Photography Contest. Since photography means "drawing with light", those changes should be of interest to all photographers! Furthermore, because the theme of transition is broad, it can't easily restrict the imagination! In an effort not to inhibit your freedom of imagination, I'm not going to give example photographs here, but here's what you need to know!

Start Date: February 15, 2008
End Date: March 20, 2008
Judging concludes after March 27, 2008

Guidelines:

• Submit one photograph (digital or film) to the contest between its start and end dates (no old submissions, please)
• Your photograph may use ordinary post-work techniques but may not include textures, brushes, or other serious manipulations (crops, borders, global color enhancements, brightness/contrast, levels, curves, tones, hue/saturation, modest vignetting, etc. are all examples of allowed enhancements)
• Your entry must in some way speak to the concept of transitions (weather, light, or something more conceptual)
• Include a link to this article in your description with a brief statement of how your photograph illustrates or otherwise speaks to the subject of transition
