I decided that, instead of doing individual features every week in my journal, doing one big one with all my friends would be a good idea! Check it out to see if you are featured here and to see some great artists you should definatly check out.
Angel Yates (A.K.A. Inqy) was one of the greatest artists on DA. She had her whole life ahead of her with her Husband and daughter. But for currently unknown reasons, Angel Yates will never be given the chance to reach her full potential.

I was watching the second to the last episode of The Amazing Race Asia last week and I was really touched when they visited an orphanage in Cape town, South Africa. I may not be able to extend my help to them at present, but hopefully through this feature, many of you will be able to realize that while a lot of children in other parts of the world are lucky enough to experience all the luxuries in life, some children in Africa are even on the brink of death because of the different diseases they suffer at an early age.
Let's put our act together before it's too late
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've submitted a couple of articles about children in the past. Just in case you're interested to see them, click on the links below
Just thought I'd put Edgar's story up here. He's the 24th photo from the top. The photo was taken by Dr. Bently Tailor (who led our trip to Africa).
Edgar was one of the little children we metin Angola. Originally, our cardiology team was going to Africa specifically to examine a little boy who we were trying to get to have heart surgery at Sick Children's Hospital here in Canada. While we were there, we found three more children who could use surgery. There were two little girls and Edgar here. Well, after returning from Angola, we pitched the cases of all four children to Sick Children's Hospital. To our great joy, last month we discovered that they were all accepted and that perparations were underway to bring them all to Canada. I felt so happy to know that Edgar would get the treatment he needed. Then, last week, we got an e-mail from Angola. Edgar had passed away before even getting the chance to come for treatment. I hope you'll all keep him in your hearts and prayers. He was such a little sweetheart; given to smiles and laughter. He was only 8 years old.
thanks for the feature although having read your message in the beginning i don't funny believe that you understand the complexity of the situation in africa and see the solution naively. but otherwise a very emotive collage!
ya..i was really touched by his story..i do hope that many people would read this and include Edgar in their prayers. wherever he is, i know he is in a better place now
i didn't know one of your photos was included here again! haha! i guess i should watch you now. i might get another one from you for my future features..
i don't really see the solution that way. well, if you were to ask me, i would really love to help them NOW but unfortunately, i don't have the means to do it. and this feature i did is my LITTLE way to let other people know about their situation (you know what i mean? like spreading the word so that other people may come to realize something and who knows? maybe, just maybe, they will be touched by the story and do something for these children)
Devious Technology is very proud to announce one of deviantART’s most highly anticipated projects – Portfolio: The Awesome Version!! Portfolio is the simplest and most professional tool on the Internet for formal presentation and review of artwork, and the best part is: it's available to everyone for FREE!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
DaVinci, Picasso, Monet... these are all names I'm sure you've heard of before. They are the Masters of the art world and their talents are world renowned. But have you ever looked at their pieces and thought to yourself "I could do better" or "that would look awesome in a comic style"? Well here's your chance. How would you have painted DaVinci's Mona Lisa? Show me using only Vectors.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
