Chinese Year of the Rat CompetitionStarting 18th February and running for one month ending 18th March the PixelArt Gallery and Doll Gallery will be holding a competition for each Gallery.
The subject is a rat or rats in some form or other be it a scene, a character, animated or still. It does not need to relate to the Chinese New Year.

There needs to be a demonstrated hand laying of pixels and no computer generated effects are acceptable, this includes text, gradients, shading tools, reduced opacity, reduced colour photomanips or any other effect unacceptable under the guidelines for PixelArt.

Doll WeekThank you very much to all those who took so much time and trouble to suggest DD features for Doll Week. Where there was more than one person who suggested the same piece of work I took the first person to suggest it. After that I selected from those who had not been listed as a suggester.
There are many lovely Dolls which were not given a DD feature but I will keep these suggestions and add many of them as future features. I will also do a Journal shortly showing the Dolls which had been suggested. Please feel free to suggest a Doll at any time, either from your own gallery or someone else's. Keep an eye on when they had their last deviation feature. Please keep it over three months since the last feature.
Doll Base ArtistsMost Dollers use each others bases on a regular basis and often create really special pieces using the base as an inspiration. There are some really gifted base artists displaying their work here and many times their bases are featured as a DD on other peoples' work.
Let's celebrate the base artists by having a week every so often just featuring their work used by others as DD features.
To kick this idea off let's start with *
bunnystick I would like your suggestions of work created on *
bunnystick bases be it your own work or someone elses, then we could have a "Bunnystick Base Week" and display Dolls using *
bunnystick bases for a week, just as we have with Doll Week.
I would welcome suggestions of other Base makers on dA to feature....even if you think I know them, tell me anyway!
Dolls featured during Doll Week at dA.

Devious Comments
Brilliant prizes as well.
A RAT contest?
Perhaps I may be inclined to join.

*Does not understand sarcasm*
If you had dollers reccommend their favorite base deviations, wouldn't it be the same as having dollers reccommend their favorite dolls for a week?
I seem to remember a poll which asked if it'd be fair to pick dolls done on others' bases should even be chosen for DDs. While one of the great parts of the dolling community is the fact we cooperate with each other to create collabrative works, couldn't you also just give base makers their due respect by featuring their work on its own?
