Read This Magazine: now accepting art submissions!

~ReadThisMagazine:iconReadThisMagazine: reports, February 19, 2008
Dear All,

Read This Issue Four is now available - featuring prose from the incredibly talented Dody Williams, as well as poetry from deviants Hayley Shields ( ~Elentari-86 ), Lindis Kipp ( ~lindindin ) and Sarah Quigley ( *a-random-quigle ).

Read This has received a total make-over thanks to a financial contribution from The Forest ( [link] ), and as a result we have more pages, better covers and many more outlets stocking copies (see the website for more details! [link] )

This makeover not only means that we can fit more of your work in the magazine, and distribute it to a wider audience -- it also means that we can now begin accepting visual art and visual lit submissions. Obviously we are all very excited about this!

TO SUBMIT WRITING:
Read This is a small-scale magazine in print and online. The editorial team consists of five amateur poets, and we aim to encourage as many people as possible to write, submit and be recognised.
We accept:
- creative writing of any genre - poetry, prose, short fiction, drama &c
- articles, reviews and journals (please provide an explanatory covering letter with these types of submissions)
- writing in any style
- writing from ANYONE, of ANY AGE, from ANYWHERE in the world
We read and consider EVERYTHING we get.
If your writing is chosen for publication, you'll see it in print or online, or both - plus, you're in with a chance of further publication in our forthcoming RT Book. If it gets into the print magazine, we give you two free copies, and if you don't we give you friendly feedback to help you improve your work.
SUBMIT TO SUBMISSIONS@READTHISMAGAZINE.CO.UK

TO SUBMIT ARTWORK:
Read This' editorial team includes a semi-professional visual artist, photographer and designer, and a cartoonist/illustrator. We'll take work in any medium, from photographs to line-drawings. We're particularly interested in seeing some visual poetry.
Artwork must be:
- attached to an email IN .JPG FORMAT
- reasonably hi-res, as it will be featured in print on the magazine covers themselves
- suitable to be viewed by anyone, including children
- no more than four pieces per submission
Again, if your work makes it to the magazine, you will receive two free copies!
SUBMIT TO SUBMISSIONS@READTHISMAGAZINE.CO.UK

PLEASE CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE ( [link] ) FOR MORE INFO ON THE MAGAZINE, THE TEAM, AND ON SUBMITTING YOUR WORK... AND, TO SEE SOME GREAT WRITING!

Questions? Note us, we're happy to help!

Zed's dead, baby.
:iconmarian0:
Great. I might think of something to contribute, if you may accept it. :plotting:

I'm just wondering, Is there a limit? Any restrictions at all?
For example, there are some artists who express in very strong ways against some political parties or organized religion. Where do you draw the line to what is accepted to be published in your magazine and what's not?
:iconreadthismagazine:
Hi ~marian0

We are one of the most laid-back arts magazines around. Many publications have an agenda -- they like everything they publish to be a bit 'out there,' or else very traditional, or something. We just like to see and read other people's creations, and if they're good we'll publish them. That's it.

The only restriction we have is that, if you send prose, we ask that it is of reasonable length -- we can't publish whole novels! And we ask that you don't send more than four submissions at a time, because we all have full time commitments elsewhere, too! Often, if we like work we ask for more, should we need it.

So get sending, we'd love to see your stuff.
(if you want any more info, check out the website, [link].uk)

Cheers!
RT
