i was about to question more, but then i realised that this was something a bit better than some randoms journal entry

I became as depressed as when I discovered
the nutritional value of the lotus had caused
their eaters to starve.
I retreated into the pantry and looked in all the drawers
for stray faves and numbers that were lower than oh-say forty.
After a week barricaded in the pantry help was called for.
The shrink could not be called in due to our faith, so they
sent in the Morman boys as a back up but they ran over the numbers with their bicycles and crunched them.
