I can't actually remember what inspired me to make a collection of photography dedicated to the Bad Girls of the world, but that doesn't really matter because I learned something much more interesting doing my search for "bad girl" photos than whatever it was that made me want to do such a thing in the first place...

After going through my favorites from the past five years and finding a good selection of Bad Girls already there waiting for me, I went to next obvious step and entered "bad girls" into the photography search.

This...is where things started to get interesting.

Browsing through page after page of "bad girls" I began to notice that the REAL bad girls didn't have to act or pose that way....even if they did...it came through in their eyes, and the more subtle body language that distinguishes natural bad girl from forced bad girl.

The true bad girls might look tough on the outside but you can always sense a big heart in there somewhere. We care...maybe we've been hurt before and we don't want to go through it again. We put that tough edge out not to start conflict but to avoid it. We are the sweethearts, the ones that will love you forever and stick up for you till the end. If we get mad its for a reason...

It's the fake bad girls that you can just see are looking to start something. They want to look tough but they're doing it for attention. The need to look extra strong is a cover for inner weakness, but it is so very see-through.

Then there are the girls that seem so damn nice and all the time but you really know that when things don't go her way...out comes the big firey BITCH!

So, this...is my tribute to the REAL Bad Girls...the ones with fire and passion and may not always do the right thing but always have our heart in the right place.
