General:
----------------
Age? (if you wish to share)I'm currently Seventeen years old.
Type (s) or species of Anthro you draw?I'm very much a subscriber to Vulpine or Vulpine derivative Anthropomorphs. I absolutely adore the sharp contrast between black and assorted shades of orange and red.
Any formal art training so far?None, thus far, though I hope to attend University at some point.
Favourite aspect of the anthro style? Why do you draw anthro? My favourite aspect of the Anthropomorphic style of drawing is the celebration of a human form perfectly blended with certain animalistic qualities. I find myself irresistibly drawn to it, so I guess that's why I draw it, too.
Fursona (if you have one)?I'm a furry lifestyler, or so I like to think, so I am possessed of a Fursona. At the moment, it is a little fluid, but is basically male and basically Vulpine. With the help of my writing, and my own somewhat limited artistic skills I eventually hope to fully define not only his physical form but his personality, in greatest detail possible using such mediums.
-------------------------------------------
In terms of structural design:
-------------------------------------------
Development of your style Other artists or Styles that influence your work? What elements of theirs do you especially like / try to incorporate in your own work?I'm something of a new, developing artist though I'm learning rapidly. My artistic style has come together, or is coming together, from many sources, though I guess the greatest single influence has to be the comic work of Scott Kellogg. His comic, 21st Century Fox, was the first anthropomorphic art that I had ever seen, and has sent me careening on my current path.
I think also that the comic art of Jay Naylor was somewhat influential, though certainly not as much as other sources have been.
I think in terms of things I try and incorporate into my own work, I love the way that Kellogg draws his Vulpine ears, and so, subconsciously or not, It's seeped into my Art. Again, with Naylor, the eyes of his characters are very emotive, and I love to attach emotion to characters especially to deepen them as individuals.
What else can lead to an inspiration for you? (people in your life, music, events)Inspiration for my art comes from my observations of people around me, and from my observations of natural wildlife in my local area especially in terms of foxes and how they move, how they interact with each other, and how they interact with humans
What basic shapes make up your characters design? The very core of my designs are circular, or derivatives of the circle. I enjoy drawing perfect circles, and possess several very precise compasses for that exact purpose.
What is unique about your work? What attributes of your design / characters / story make your artwork inimitable? My artwork and my style are still developing, though I personally think that as a result of my writing, my characters are very emotive, and focus more on the people involved rather than the interactions between them.
Is there a reason why you use a(n) specific medium(s)?Graphite and good paper, especially that made by Derwent, form the best kind of tools for me. I have several sets of very nice graphite pencils that I'm just itching to have the skills to use right and to create beautiful drawings with.
---------------------------------------------
In terms of Anthro Philosophy
---------------------------------------------
How personified are your anthros? Explain a little bit about their anatomy and human characteristics? Animal / non living object characteristics? My Characters are as close to human as is possible in some areas, but in others are thoroughly animalistic especially in terms of personality. I'm fascinated with this idea of the perfect blend between deviously intelligent humans and viciously strong animals. So, for instance, you might have an anthropomorphic character that had a very animalistic, very powerful body, with strong senses, but the coldly logical, highly intelligent mind of a human being to make sense of it all within the reality of our world and the relationship between it and other things.
------------------
The Artist
------------------
Explain some of the characterization that goes into one of your charactersHow can someone connect with the characters personality through your artwork? When I create characters, I aim to write as much as I can about them, so people can connect to the art. For instance, my latest, still in development character, Todd Fuchs, is going to have around 40,000 words written for him a fiction that deeply explores his character in as many places as possible. I hope that eventually, when I draw Todd Fuchs, people will be so deeply involved with the character that the artwork will be more powerful as a result.
Do your original characters have a written story or an RP behind them?Well, my fursona character is loosely based on the chief protagonist of a fifteen-thousand word short story I wrote, and I plan to introduce several other characters in the near future, each with a fiction to support their character then produce artwork from these fictions, so that people can link writing to art seamlessly.
Who is your favourite anthro character (yours or someone elses) and what about them do you like?Undoubtedly, the main character of 21CF has to be my favourite Jack Black, vulpine engineer. He has over ten years of well written comics to support his character, which really speaks to me, as an artist.
Future?
Is your art a hobby to you, or are you aspiring for something much bigger? What are your plans for your future in anthro art? Do you plan to take on something else?My art is as much an expression of my love for animals and the human form as it is a hobby. I want to continue drawing things that make me happy and express my feelings thus, and perhaps in the future something can come of it that is profitable or well liked but I have no direct plans.
