I went to the Brisbane Soundwave Festival! It was awesome, I got to see All Time low, Motion City Soundtrack, Sugarcult, Receiving End Of Sirens, Saosin and The Offspring. I got to hear a couple on the way in too, Boys Like Girls don't sound too bad...
Enough about my experience. This festival is a great collection of Artists of the musical kind, both known and unknown bands (for many people). I found quite a few new bands there that I like quite a bit, so give them all a go! Even if they aren't your "style".
Well, I ripped this general list from my journal of things I recommend to take with you. I forgot a lot of these things and wished to hell that I had taken them with me. I may add some more as I think of them

I hope it prove useful!

So, some notes for people going to Soundwave in other parts of Australia. You need these things!

make sure you get the Timetable so you know when your bands are on! also to plan those pitstops beforehand so you don't need to pee halfway through your favourite band.

We had a magazine that published a map and a timetable, so look out for something similar to that or even try the website.

Sunscreen! It was very hot and sunny, even if it is overcast put some on. A lot of people got very burnt, so learn from Brisbane's mistakes.

Water (lots of!)It was a very hot day, I would still recommend a lot of water even if it wasn't hot.

Moneys! Food and drinks are expensive, make sure you have enough cash on you ($3 for a bottle of water, $5 for a cup of chips), not to mention any merch you happen to buy.

A bag is a great idea, but don't get stuck with everyone else's crap (yes Sam, I'm talking about you!

) But at least you get somewhere to put any merch you get and your water bottle etc...

Camera! or you will hate yourself forever! I know I do! Don't forget extra memory cards and take lots of shots during the day, The bands tended to use not very camera friendly lighting (red and purple D:<

Get there really early, I'm thinking really really really early... Like 9am it took us an hour and a half to get in (only because we had friends already in the line)

Alcohol is very expensive, it was $7 for beer and $9 for Spirits, anyway, you should be having fun, not getting drunk.

Have fun!

The blue porta potties have foot pedals to flush, and for the sink

For Photos of the Brisbane Soundwave Festival Go to
@kyza's Gallery and Flickr account, she has a lot of great shots.
Now remains the other cities, have fun!
I wish you all luck.
Don't forget to link your photos of Soundwave in a comment here so everyone else can take a look at them too!
PS. This is my first News Article, don't shoot me down in flames if I did it all wrong

We got there at 10 and we went to the front entrance line and it took us like 40 mins to get in.
TREoS have split up, so I'm glad I saw them before they did. Did you see Mae? Alexisonfire?

So when you say "forever",
can't you see?
You've already captured me.
You got there pretty early, we got there about 1pm-ish when we got there, both lines were so full up.
I don't think I got to see any of the bands you mentioned, I had a "shopping list" of bands to see and they pretty much didn't leave any time to wander around. Trying to get food was hell enough.
