*pixel-pax Summer Winter Challenge Winners*
pixel-pax have had a wonderful result for the Summer Winter Challenge. All entries were really excellent.
The concept was to use a 5 colour palette of cold colours to create a summer scene and a 5 colour palette of warm colours to create a winter scene.
Those who lived in the southern hemisphere had to do the cold colour palette and those in the northern hemisphere had to do one from the warm colour palette. A second entry was permitted and people were allowed to enter the alternate palette.

Pixel Plushie Tower ProjectCollaborations and community projects are always such a wonderful part of any community and it is something I support 100%.
*
farbanian has created a plushy tower project and is inviting people to add one plushy to the pile. It must be created in pixelart with no computer generated effects. Let's see how tall we can make it. If you don't feel up to adding a plushy you could just fav it and watch it grow.
A Word of GratitudeBeing a Gallery Director is not an easy task but to see a community grow and develop and rise up from ashes is worth all the time, effort and heartache along the way.
It is not achieved by magic but from intelligent input from the community.

beblue has announced in a recent Journal
[link] she is moving away from dolling and looking to expand her artistic talents in other areas. May I publicly thank her for all the support, help and constructive criticism she has offered over the last eight months, as I have been trying to create a great place for Dollers to display their work here at dA. Thank you blue!
I have every faith she will not be abandoning Dolling or Dollers totally but can understand how an artist may want to explore their talents in a wider way. It will be exciting to see her next artistic steps.
In the meantime she will be working to build Belle Aerie Art Forum.

Art theft, Rips,Tracing at dA....how to handle itThis is something which seems to crop up on a regular basis whether it is done by people who should know better or who don't know better.
If you recognize a piece of work which you feel belongs to another artist and has been ripped in some way, go to the artist and tell them. The artist may be fine with the situation or they may feel completely violated.
If an artist looks at the work by the other person and feels it is their work, the way to handle this is by reporting the work to the Policy Department as a Copyright Violation. You will need to link to your work which you feel has been stolen and put in a formal complaint in the comments box provided. It is handled in the same way that you would handle a miscat but just a different selection from the drop down menu....select "Copyright Violation". Here is a flash animation showing how do do it...

Approaching the person on their page or writing a Journal isn't the best way to handle the problem, even if you feel violated and want instant redress. It is better that all these situations are handled through the Policy Department, that way action can be taken and records can be kept for future reference.
As a footnote, I have no knowledge or input as far as Policy Violations are concerned, it is not an area were Gallery Directors are involved, other than to offer advice as to the best course of action where someone feels there has been a violation.
Can those angels who report miscats in Dolls and PixelArt just hold off for a bit, I am now swamped with reports and it will be taking me some time to get through them. I will give you a nod when it is button pressing time again. Thank you for all those reports, you are wonderful!

Devious Comments
BTW, I found back a print out of some pixel art I did in a distant past, like my Vaughn Bodé pin up.
I believe I have lost the originals, made in some odd format (the above made on an Apple //e, the later on an Atari 520ST...) so I might scan them too.
I want to be sure it is OK.

No to signature clichés! You are on an art site, be creative!
