An artist with an extensive number of works in her gallery, *erlkeylala, or Berlyn, shares her creative view of the world and how she sees life. In this interview, Beryln discusses her abstract photography.

1. You have a great number of deviations in your gallery. How do you manage to find such great subjects for your abstract photography?

I bring my camera with me at all times (cept when I go to work) & spare batteries. You’ll never know when to find a good subject for a photograph. The worst thing is to find something you’d really like to capture & you don’t have your camera with you or you ran out of batteries. I have a fetish for imperfect things like rust, molds, wall cracks and it’s everywhere…

2. What made you decide to pursue photography, and more specifically abstract photography?

I am passionate about taking photographs especially the abstract ones as it kinda relate to my personality I suppose. Sounds weird but as a person, I seem transparent but am not – it’d be difficult to figure out what’s in my head as it works 25 hours a day

3. Do you ever work in other mediums besides photography?

I do acrylic painting too.

4. What are your favorite abstract works? Choose one of your own, and one from another artist.

6. What do you want people to know about you and your work that they may not already?

Ummm.. I love life. I love art too and I think one’s life is a never-ending piece of art…
