where I do agree that it is astoundingly rude to place a link in the comment section where they thank someone, I don't quite agree that there's a "right" way to thank someone. Personally, I try to return the favor - but I always leave a thanks on the comment thingy (pardon my lack of words x_x) in addition with checking the gallery. I try to leave more than just a "thanks" by looking through their gallery and adding a nice comment toward their gallery in return.

There's many ways of thanking someone, so I can't say I agree 100% - but I definitely agree that using the "thanks for faving this" in the comment section is bad when people use it as a means of advertising their gallery. That's just me personally, heh.

I've also noticed how people are getting more hit counts by favoriting every new picture in the browse section - just to get people to check their page... it's kind of rude, in my personal opinion, because the people have absolutely no interest in the work they're favoriting, they just want page views -_-'' (err...that was off-topic, sorry :S I'm just annoyed at that aspect at the moment -_-)

Some people seriously need to learn to enjoy the community of DA rather than try to get popular or whatever... so I definitely understand your frustration...

best of luck though, and hope the rude people don't ruin your day or mood Good people get what they give, and the annoyingly rude will be ruthlessly attacked by karma (least that's how I look at it )

Each person is entitled to their opinion on how people should properly thank others. What's more, not EVERYONE sits in the news section looking for new news; I am one of those people. I usually only read news submitted by those I watch, so something like this reaches out to people like me who don't go and look at the news section that often.

I don't particularly agree with your fave for fave; watch for watch option. I'm very selective about who I watch because I don't want my message box full of stuff I may not care to see. If I like a deviant's gallery, I will often fave something I like in particular and use that as a means to find my way back to their page now and then. The same goes for faves. I fave the stuff I genuinely like or may use as a reference (asking the Deviant for permission if that's the case), not just because someone faved something of mine. If I were to go an fave a bunch of things just because someone faved on mine, the gesture would ultimately become meaningless. I'd rather someone comment on my work if they feel they want to repay a gesture rather than with a fave or a watch, and that's what I tend to do.
