Isn't deviantArt meant to be a community of artists all coming together to show each other their hard work on artwork and also connect and comment to make each other better?
Or at least that's what I thought...
So when did people stop giving comments?
I admit sometimes I don't have the time to do full comment, but I always try to do something. These days it is so easy just to drag and collect, and not look at all. Infact I've seen my artwork, just after submission, get 2 favs, but no views. People are just dragging from browse. Where did comments go?
If it was not for when I first joined dA and getting comments from everyone I would have never gotten to were I am at now. I learn from the direction of comments, and I think that many people do the same.
Everyone has something to offer in terms of critique. If you don't know what critique is, do a quick search here. You'll find some great articles.
Now, I'm not yelling at you. I've done all this too. A lot. So I'm making a stand.
Comment on one piece by one artist that you get in your inbox a week. It's not like it is going to kill you to say "That's really cool." Or "Great job!" At least its a comment cause I know how we all love to get a comment or two. The better the comment in terms of critique, the better we can make this art community.
