History

DutchDesignz (DD) was an art community founded in april 2004. The community was mainly about the forum, which grew explosively. DutchDesignz was one of the bigger “small art” communities, with loads of different sections and resources for all different type of designers. Begin 2007 we launched DutchDesignz Revolution, on a complete new boardsystem with a lot of new possibilities for our members. Within two months we were back at the old membercount and we were still growing.

The best thing of DD was that it was more than a community. It was like a family. That is what most of our members always said and how people thought about each other. Guided by a group of intensive and hard working staff who were prepared to give more and more to the community, DD was unique.

Unfortunately the DD systems got hacked. Not once, but twice. After some periods of downtime, DD was emptier than ever before. At last, after the second hack – the staff decided to pull the plug out of the community.

DutchDesignz Reborn

We could have known that was not the end. DD had a deviantART account which kept the most active members in contact with each other. The idea rose to bring DD back to life, but this time not as a “small art” forum community, but as an art group.

The idea is to launch theme based art packs under the DD flags every now and then. These will be multi disciplinary art packs, containing different sorts of art. We want to ask you, as a deviant, as a former DD member, as someone with a community spirit or someone that wants to join the family, to help us get DD back on the map.

Art pack

We want to announce that we are starting the first official DD-xl art pack right now. This first art pack will be launched under the theme Reborn. The official deadline and launch date will be announced later this month.

If you want to join in the art pack, send a thumb or a link to your entry to us in a note titled “Reborn”.
