`SparrowSong on writing, critique and her passions

^lovetodeviate:iconlovetodeviate: reports, September 28
An interview with writer, critic (critiquer?), lit senior, `SparrowSong. Here are some tidbits:

“I like that my passions change. If nothing else, it gives me more to write about.”

“Everyone has heard the expression, ‘Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.’ If you don’t learn to critique, you will always be dependent on others to help you instead of being able to do it by yourself.”

“Art changes how we view the surface of the world to reveal truth or beauty—or both—underneath.”

Blind Spots: Feature Two

~SesshysRose:iconSesshysRose: reports, March 6
Hi Everybody! I know I missed last month's feature...things have been extremely busy with classes, homework, school trips, and life in general really! If you haven't read Blind Spots before, Welcome! My purpose with this article is to showcase one of the most neglected art form on this site: literature!

It seems people don't like to take a second to look over even a simple piece of literature as they would a picture. My goal is to put together a small collection of short poems (and possibly a few short stories as well:D) for people to just skim over if they don't have time to read them, to better promote the literary works of those on dA.

Feel free to send suggestions...even if you are suggesting something of your own! :giggle:

:w00t:Writers love to be recognized (through favorites, comments, etc.) too!:w00t:

Anywho, here is what we have this month:

Inspired Creations

I have decided to showcase a few non-literature based works with hopes of inspiring new literary works among the writing community. Each piece is picked for a reason by me (but feel free to send me suggestions through a note or comment on my account as I don't frequently check my articles for new comments.) If you write a piece linked to one of the artworks shown here, send me the link through a note or a comment on my profile page, (=SesshysRose) and I'll show it in the upcoming issue of Blind Spots!
