Due to the massive upload rates in the galleries new and talented members of deviantART really have a hard time getting noticed. With this feature I want to give those members a head start and the exposure they deserve. That's why I only choose photographers with a relatively small number of pageviews (less or just above 1,000).
This is about cherry blossom (or sakura in japanese) flowers. I wanna share it with all deviant here. This is One of my fav flower. I'm collect it before this.. I hope u'all love it too
A collection of photographs that have left me breathless. Kudos to all of you who have taken these! Also, I'm trying to hurry and tell you all you've been featured! So bare with me.. Much love; softersinn.
Your Darkest Dreams is a monthly feature devoted to sharing dark photography works from DeviantArt. Often misunderstood as "morbid" or "depressing", Your Darkest Dreams seeks to show this kind of photography in a new way: by showcasing art that is thought provoking, but at the same time unabashedly displays the beauty in darkness.
Eating disorders as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder include extreme emotions, attitudes, and behaviors surrounding weight and food issues. They are serious emotional and physical problems that can have life-threatening consequences for males and females.
According to US estimates from The National Institute of Mental Health, between 5 per cent and 10 per cent of girls and women (i.e. 5-10 million people) and 1 million boys and men suffer from eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, or other associated dietary conditions.
TEN SIGNS OF AN EATING DISORDER:
1. Drastic weight loss
2. Preoccupation with counting calories
3. The need to weight yourself several times a day
4. Excessive excercise
5. Binge eating or purging
6. Food rituals, like taking tiny bites, skipping food groups or re-arranging food on the plate
7. Avoiding meals or only wanting to eat alone
8. Taking laxatives or diuretics
9. Smoking to curb appetite
10. Persistent view of yourself as fat that worsens despite weight loss
HOW TO HELP?
Remember that you cant force someone to seek help, change their habits, or adjust their attitudes. You will make important progress in honestly sharing your concerns, providing support, and knowing where to go for more information! Since these people NEED professional help.
Some ideas of what you could do to help people with eating disorders:
1. LEARN as much as you can about eating disorders. Read articles, news, webpages, books, all that you can find
2. KNOW THE DIFFERENCES between facts and myths about weight, nutrition and exercise. Knowing the facts will help you reason against any innacurate ideas that your friend may be using as excuses to mantain their disordered eating patterns.
3. BE HONEST. Talk openly and honestly about your concerns with the person who is struggling with eating or body image problems. Avoiding it or ignoring it wont help.
4. BE CARING, BUT FIRM. Caring about your friend does not mean being manipulated by them. Your friend must be responsible for their actions and consequences of those actions. Avoid making rules, promises or expectations that you cannot or will not uphold. For example: "I promise not to tell anyone" or "If you do this one more time I will never talk to you again".
5. COMPLIMENT your friends personality, successes, or acoomplishments. Remind your friend that "true beauty" is not simply skin deep.
6. BE A GOOD ROLE MODEL in regard to sensible eating, exercise and self-acceptance.
7. TELL SOMEONE. It may seem difficult to know when, if at all, to tell someone about your concerns -- a guidance, counselor, doctor, parent or friend. Addressing body image or eating problems in their beginning stages offers your friend or loved one the best chance for working through these issues and becoming healthy again. Dont wait until the situation is so severe that their life is in danger.

Take my photo off of here. There's a difference between being in shape and having an eating disorder, and to assume that she does is insulting. She has worked hard for years to be able to run like she does, and accusing her of not eating detracts from that hard work. She's a great athlete with a great work ethic, and you have no right to portray her as having an eating disorder. You also have no right to use my photo. Especially for an article like this, you ask before you take a photo. Don't just assume you can use it and put it up. Get rid of it.
Good article on shedding light on the situation, I would of maybe picked some stronger photos with more direct concepts and intentions, clearly most of these photos aren't meant to shed light on an eating disorder.
I agree with you completely. But eating disorders are common in the athletic field. Although, I do realize this does not give the user permission to use your photo, I just thought that it was a valid point. I am sure they meant no insult the the subject of your photo. So maybe you should calm down a little?
impeccible article. fabulously done. i'm honored any of my art could be used in this feature that is dearly close to my heart. it's rare anyone do something POSITIVE and HELPFUL around the issue anymore and not just glamorizing it or just showing the bad orrr doing 'thinspo' and encouraging the disease.
this needed to be said, done, shown, and you really put a lot of time into this. many applause to YOU and thank you as well.

Unrestricted stock can be used for both personal and commercial projects, but it cannot be redistributed as stock. You are not required to obtain permission prior to using the stock off site and the only requirements are that the stock provider be notified and credited.
I can't believe so many artists dedicate their efforts and time to create authentic works of art for us to USE freely! In the world of 3D stocks [ most of it unknown to the photomanipulators ] you can find truly inspiring fantasy and surreal elements that could never be captured by a regular camera. And the best part is that most of them come in a transparent background, so we can simply click and drag onto our work. How fun, fast and easy is that?
