reports, March 9British Anthropologist Mary Douglas was well-known for the quote "Dirt is only matter out of place," indicating that dirt was considered "wrong" or "taboo" when it was out of its natural place, indicating to us that taboos are simply objects or concepts in the wrong context. Some taboos are funny, some are disturbing.
