Friedreich's Ataxia is one of the most common forms of inherited ataxia. Ataxia litterally means "absence of order". Ataxia is the main symptom of a group of neurological disorders called the cerebellar ataxias. Parts of the nervous system that control co-ordination and balance deteriorate. I have FA and I am trying to raise enough money to have some stem cell treatment...

For my Sociology Class we are doing surveys. My topic is 'Does listening to different kinds of music affect intelligence?'
I've got about 40 surveys done but I could use some more. I've already noticed some trends but before I discuss them I'd like for some more results. If you'd please answer my survey I'd really appreciate it. If you want you can note me your answers to keep it more annonymous. Also if you'd like to discuss this with me feel free, what I've found is pretty interesting.
1. What type of music do you typically listen to?
2. Does your mood affect what type of music you listen to?
3. What kind of social life would you consider yoursel to have? (do you have one or not? Social outcast or not? *basically*)
4. What is/was your GPA? (it's ok to guess if you aren't sure)
1. Literally everything except country. From classical to jazz to heavy metal... I listen to just about everything.
2. I wouldn't really say my mood does...it's more like what I'm doing affects what type of music I listen to. For example, if I am working out I like to listen to heavy music..something to get me pumped up...but when I am going to bed I listen to techno/trance music. The repetitive rhythm of the music helps put me to sleep (and I like to think that it effects my dreams as well).
3. My current social life is restricted to the 500 feet of steel I am currently deployed on, but normally I have a pretty good social life. I have never been considered the "social outcast" and have been able to get along with just about everyone I meet.
4. I have been out of school for about 5 or 6 years now...so I don't really remember my GPA. I would say go with a 3.0 though... It sounds about right.
I hope that helps.

I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored.~Wayne Campbell
1. I listen to mainly Heavy Metal, but some folkmusic, punk, classic and synth drop in too.
2. Yes, but the music affects my mood too. So I don't always listen to music of the same mood as I'm in. Depressive music and depressive mood is not a good combination. Then i put in some aggressive or happy/funny music (yes, metal still).
3. I'm very social and talks happily to anyone willing to listen and generally gets along with everyone. I have only a few chosen friends that I see outside of University/work though.
4. I don't have clue! It's been 8 years since I graduated and the University doesn't have those grade things (it probably isn't the same anyway since I'm in Sweden). Also I have only been there for half a year.
1) Industrial/Nu Metal/Drum n Bass 2) Depressed I'll listen to angry music to make me feel better Happy/ any other mood, I'll listen to what takes my fancy (including classical/ pop/ opera... everything & anything) 3) Semi-outcast, semi-extremely sociable 4) I live in Britain. We don't have GPA as far as I'm aware

I was given this: by *Summon-The-Wolves! I was 13 years old and I heard [SlipKnot] on the radio so I took a baseball bat and swung into my stereo. Then I went out and bought a Steely Dan CD. And the rest is history.~ZoSoLover202

`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
