The *DAPoliticalForum Club has been providing DeviantArt's political community with a place to share our art, communicate ideas, and have a few laughs since August, 2007. Since then, we have grown exponentially; we now have foreign relations with 77 clubs and boast a constituency of 230 members, and growing!

And it is time to update our look to reflect our astounding growth and contributions to the deviantART community. So the *DAPoliticalForum Club is sponsoring a contest to upgrade the look of the CSS journal, complete with snazzy graphics and useful buttons!


We are looking for a design that is...

ATTRACTIVE and catches our eye.

COHESIVE with an intuitive, organized, and accessible interface.

RELEVANT by creatively espousing DAPF’s ideals of politics, community, and art.


No CSS skills required! Your entry will be judged as an artistic concept; the CSS for the winning entry will be written by =beta3. You may submit your entry as a deviation which details any functional elements, e.g., roll-over buttons.

The DAPF journal presents content that is rich in volume and diversity. Therefore, to ensure that the journal is both functional and flexible, we ask that your journal concept (complete with a header, menu, body, and footer) be clean and effective in presenting content. A cluttered layout, distracting background, pop-out menus, and badly tiled images make the journal difficult to read. The width of journals entries vary by default, consider if this will distort your background, header, footer images, and the overall flow of content.

In short, it better be damn good!


And the prizes will be...

1st PLACE: $125.00*, 1-year sub**, Journal Feature***, use of your submission in the DAPF Club journal!
2nd PLACE: $75.00, 6-month sub, Journal Feature.
3rd PLACE: $50.00, 3-month sub, Journal Feature.
4th PLACE: $25.00, 3-month sub, Journal Feature.

* Monetary transactions will take place within 15 days through PayPal.

** Subscriptions will be given within 5 days.

*** Journal features will appear the next available Saturday.

Eligibility:

Must be a member of the *DAPoliticalForum Club (see Members for information about how to join).
Must place a link to the DAPF Club in your signature, and/or place the DAPF avatar in your journal/friends box


Submission & Selection:

Only One entry per contestant (so make it count!)
The entry must be submitted by 11PM EDT on April 10th, 2008
The entry must be submitted as a deviation and a link to the deviation submitted via note with the title "DAPF CSS Entry" to *DAPoliticalForum.
The winning submission may only be used exclusively for the DAPF Club journal.

The selections' placing will be determined by a vote.
Only current members as of the date of this posting may vote.
