CNN Money examines in depth the art site Etsy.com and the struggle it is currently facing to keep it's user base, fellow artist's like us on deviantART. It is a very interesting read, to say the least, and will surely raise a few eyebrows.
Gangs in the United States are not a new or recent phenomenon. Their history has been traced back to the post Revolutionary War days and originally they formed as a means of self-protection and as social clubs.
Are you depressed? Do you feel like you are a failure? Do you feel empty inside? Do you sometimes end up harming yourself, or punishing yourself in some way? Do you find yourself unable to handle stress sometimes?
This might help. Give it a read, it might change your life. It changed mine.

The Poverty Draft, Politics, Symbols, and the inconvenience of being human.
Even in times of war, the Soldier as an individual is of no consequence. The Soldier is a symbol, a simple pawn in a culture war. The Soldier is either a villain, or a Hero. The Soldier always serves for the honor of his country, not his paycheck. The Soldier is faithful, as there are 'no atheists in the trenches'. The Soldier is Combat Arms. The Soldier is male, he married a young white girl, and he has a baby on the way, whom he has never met.

You know what I'm talking about: they don't leave a comment to say why they're faving your work; you go to their page to thank themand hey! They have 13,985,628,139 pageviews and their comments section is full of "thx 4 teh favz0rz/watchz0rz"-type messages. Personally, I don't give these people the extra pageview they're looking for, because a) they don't need it and b) they don't like my art that much! It just caught their eye and they decided that they would grab another pageview from my stuff. I only thank deviants who fave my stuff and comment on it. (I'm not trying to impose my actions on you, just my opinions and thoughts. Heh.)
Honestly, if you want to favorite a work of art, you should tell the artist why you're doing so first. There must be a reason why you like it so much. At least say, "The contrast of colors is awesome," or something like that. Everyone appreciates a nice comment, and it means so much more than blindly faving. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with faving a piece of work you love without leaving a comment, but there must be a reason why you like it, right? Make that artist a little bit happier by giving them a meaningful comment.
A less rampant trend is that of randomly watching. Some deviants think watching someone will earn a pageview and a watch-back in return! What a great deal! Seriously, if you're that desperate for pageviews, do what deviantART is all about: create some good art that'll get you those views you want so desperately...through your own merit.
I just thought this was an under-addressed issue. I see cases of it everywhere, but nobody else seems to have a problem with it. That confuses me. Are pageviews really such a big deal?
no they are not. It just lets the lousy artist obsess on something other than the fact he is a lousy artist, and really can't call himself an artist if he is doing it for the pageviews.

Agreed. Also annoying is when people watch you, yet never comment or fave (or both in this case xD) anything, like as you say, they're just expecting a watch back or something =.=
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
