Art to Schools are slowly going away

*Someone-Around:iconSomeone-Around: reports, March 12
Hello everyone, I just have something to throw out of some news coming around from my actual school. Though am not sure if its happening all around, but here in the state I live, its happening slowly.

I am a High school student in Idaho, and I go everyday, and I have few art classes I enjoy to take. Recently its been told around the school that a lot of the art classes are being dismissed because a lot of students are not choosing to take art classes.

Why?

Well its been told me that a lot of the credit changes are so big that they can't have a schedule for an art class. Since of credits of require classes to graduate are becoming higher, a lot of students are having a harder time to keep up with them, and has no time for electives.
My world history teacher's class is in the art building since that classroom was a art class that didn't have a enough students. Yet my world history teacher told us about this incident. He said there were more credit requirements in Math...
...and he even asked us "Who needs 5 years of Math to graduate?" We reply saying that people who work with math everyday need that much, and our teacher agreed. (engineers, mechanics, etc)

After hearing the discussion, I kind of wonder why it has to be like that, I mean I feel that art should been a require course, it helps you look at life a bit more closer. Art helps you see things that you never seen or thought of before. So I don't understand why things are turning this way.

Is it going on in your community? are you against the change or for it? Thats basically really I want to know. I only got this information from my school, and I thought it be good to share it with you all, because it could be happening else where too.

Thank you for reading.
