Our March interview is with

, a very explorative Ultra Fractal artist who is able to produce a most aesthetically pleasing variety of images! She specialises in flowers and spirals, but produces many other fractal images besides, often with expert use of texturing.
Meet Kattvinge
How did you get started in fractal art?Well, Ive enjoyed fractal-art since I came across a few images here on deviantart. Some were made with Apophysis and I learned that it was a free program so I downloaded it and started making a few chaotic looking pictures. This was around July/August 2006. Then about six months later I wanted to try out Ultra Fractal and got me that program too.
I had no training whatsoever when I started. Later on I tried out a few tutorials, but Im happy doing things my way, learning it the hard way.
Do you do artwork for a living? No, my art, its a hobby, a form of healing for me. And no, I dont have a job at the moment. My last job was within the telemarketing business and before that in the book-publishing business.
Do you feel that any particular artists have influenced your work?A: Yes, a few, ~

FractalEyesWhat inspires you in the fractal art you do?I'm inspired by my mood most of the time, actually all of the time. If I feel gloomy, I do gloomy pictures, if something good happens, then I make bright and happy art too.
What techniques do you use when creating a fractal? Most of my fractals are made with Thingamajigs, Doodads and TapestryX (especially when I want to make flowers ), and normal standard Orbit Traps.
What three fractals would you pick from your gallery as your favourites, and why?
Alchemists dream - Just because Im proud how it came out.

Experiment 57 Heavenly Blue - Makes my soul feel a bit lighter when Im down.

Experiment 39 Malachite - Just because I love the mineral Malachite and this one reminds me very much of my favourite stone.
Is there any advice you would like to pass on to others?Well
take your time, dont fret if it doesnt turn out like a masterpiece from the start. Start with one particular formula that you like and play around until you find your style. Never be afraid to ask for help. But most of all have fun. Laugh your heart out if it turns out silly or goofy. Save the image for future laughs too..
Here's a Small Sampling from *Kattvinge's Gallery

We would really like to encourage you to go to *
Kattvinge's extensive gallery and see for yourself the diversity of her work. From some of the most basic formulas you may be surprised at the enormous amount of variations there are to be found, which are both attractive and compositionally well structured.

'You want to know how the universe began? That question makes no sense and has no point! The brain knows so much, there will always be an unsolvable mystery, and to that forms the basis of religion.'
