`SparrowSong on writing, critique and her passions

^lovetodeviate:iconlovetodeviate: reports, September 28
An interview with writer, critic (critiquer?), lit senior, `SparrowSong. Here are some tidbits:

“I like that my passions change. If nothing else, it gives me more to write about.”

“Everyone has heard the expression, ‘Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.’ If you don’t learn to critique, you will always be dependent on others to help you instead of being able to do it by yourself.”

“Art changes how we view the surface of the world to reveal truth or beauty—or both—underneath.”

1/3 through Haikuthon, March on!

~Iscariot-Priest:iconIscariot-Priest: reports, March 13
The Spring Haiku point is 13 days in, and it's been a great turn out so far. To everybody who's joined and stuck to it, congrats! :w00t:

To anyone unfamiliar to the haiku form, this is a great opportunity to see the interpretation of the form by writers both new and experienced in writing haiku. You'll soon see there's more to it than folk glazing over nature and strict 5-7-5 syllable rules.

A great side project

Choose one of these haiku and feature it in your journal. Just say something along the lines of I like this one and show it off. :)

If anyone was left out or is interested in joining, note me. With my internship in full swing, I might have missed something.
